Not all spices are equal!
Many people believe that the word 'Spice' automatically means it's hot. However this is not the case. All spices and herbs are flavorsome with their own unique taste and texture, but only some are classed as hot! Most people would recognize chilli, cayenne, hot paprika to name a few as being hot and depending on the type of chili, some are extremely 'blow your head off' hot. But many spices are mild in taste and just enhance your selected meat, poultry, fish or vegetarian dish with flavor and texture. Basil, oregano, parsley, mint, coriander, thyme and sage are gorgeous fresh from the garden and are of the mild variety. These are more commonly called herbs, but can also add a hugh amount of flavor when dried and added to your favorite dish. Whether you like it Hot or Not, spices are the perfect partner for your favorite dish!
