Tricky situation
Sooo. I have sub-sections on Thursday and I'm not running what I usually run...I'm doing both the 1600 & the 3200. My coaches dropped our 4x800 relay for some reason...I don't even understand why. (Very sad about this) Anyway I've never ran both the mile and 2mile in one meet before so this is a big change for me and I'm not too sure what to do. For sub-sections I know that I can definitely make it to sections in the 2 mile because there isn't a lot of competition so I don't necessarily have to have "fresh" legs to make it, so I could really go hard in the mile and not have a problem. Sections though, is really really tough for the 2mile and the mile.😅 I'm almost for sure that there's no way I'm going to state in the mile so really, I just want to focus all my energy towards the 2 mile because going to state for that is really important to me. Top 2 go to state and right now with my most recent PR (12:09 last Tuesday) I'm sitting at 3rd place, and the other girl's PR's are only about 5 seconds off mine so I'm definitely in range still, that is if my legs are feeling good, which I'm not too sure they will be if I just ran a hard mile. Plan A that I have is to not run hard at sub sections and just not even qualify for sections in the mile, then just make it in the 2 mile. Plan B is that I run hard in both at subs and try and make it in the mile but then at sections I won't go all out in the mile, saving myself for the 2 mile. I'm not sure what I should do, they just sort of threw me into this.😕 Please give me some advice on what I should do! (Keep in mind I honestly don't really care about the mile at all😅 just the 2 mile)
