" To keep creating you have to be about change. "
- Miles Davis
Released 55 years ago today
Changed the "game". It's a revolution album. Jazz went electric and it's been never the same.
James Mason; best known for his jazz-funk / soul record Rhythm Of Life. For me, it’s all about “I Want Your Love” which has personal sentimental value and though it was released in 1996, it sounds like something he made two decades earlier.
And the liner notes: “SPECIAL THANKS to The Crusaders, Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Joseph Zawinul, Stevie Wonder, The Pointer Sisters and Stanley Clarke. And for the learning experience working as a member of his band afforded me, THANK YOU to Roy Ayers.”
That’s gratitude.

“It’s not the note you play that’s the wrong note – it’s the note you play afterwards that makes it right or wrong.”
