Does anyone realize that Miles Edgeworth wouldn't reeeeaaalllllyyy be british? I'm specifically talking about the US localization here.

I mean, if we're considering that von karma took him in at such a young age, they all probably moved to Germany. Especially considering Franziska didn't start training until 13. Miles was taken at 9, and Franziska would've been 2.

Considering von karma expected perfection in likely anything Miles did under his care, it's probably not an unrealistic thing to think one of two scenarios happened:

1. Von Karma didn't attempt to teach Miles any german, but instead stopped speaking english. Period. Miles would've had to figure it out on his own, especially trying to learn through what is likely very local dialects and accent from Von Karma's entire family, while Franziska is learning more of the language too.

2. Miles was forced to learn AND perfect german, and Von Karma wouldn't let any of Japanifornia's accent slip through like how Gregory "might've" sounded.

Now let's fast foward at least 11 years. Miles has passed the bar at age 20, Franziska began her studies at 13. That's 11 years of living under Von Karma's house, 11 years of what I imagine was a german-only household which INCLUDES Miles. Of course he got to speak to anyone in school or on cases, but if he spent 11 years with von karma hovering over his shoulder to pronounce everything "properly", it might've stuck around, especially considering how traumatized Miles was.

Which also leaves one more option:

Miles Edgeworth doesn't have a british accent, or a german accent. But he speaks english in his Japanifornian accent.

My final point: NOT. BRITISH.
