Miles and Barbara (ship) at a Halloween party? (If you get the chance, no rush)
Miles watched carefully as a sleazy looking guy slipped into the spot beside Barbara. Miles was always protective of his friends (especially the ones he had feelings for) and he knew Barbara could handle herself but something didn’t sit right with him.
Barbara was clearly trying her best to push the guy away but he wasn’t taking no for an answer. Barbara began looking for an excuse to get the guy away from her but he was pretty much blocking her in so when she spied Miles looking in her direction she shot him a pleading look.
Miles set aside his drink, marching over and slipping an arm around Barbara as soon as he saw she needed help. She wrapped an arm around him in return and his heart skipped a beat.
“Everything okay, babe?” he asked pretending to be a protective boyfriend.
“All good now,” Barbara smiled over at Miles and he felt weak in the knees.
The guy looked between the two of them wanting to argue the sudden appearance of a ‘boyfriend’ but the (unintentional) matching costumes sold him on their fake relationship. He sighed and went off to find someone else.
“Mind sticking around in case there are any more creeps?” Barbara asked, hopefully. She didn’t need Miles to stick around really, it was more of a want.
“I’d love to,” Miles replied acting as he forgot he had his arm slung around her and planned on leaving it there until she said something.
Hurt/Comfort Miles/Kyle: “I’m better when I’m with you.”
Miles gave a heavy sigh as he placed his forehead on the door of the bedroom. He knew Kyle was on the other side, most likely curled up, watching something on his laptop trying to ignore the fact his boyfriend had put him on the back burner the past few weeks.
Miles didn’t mean to. He never meant to. Sometimes he just got so caught up in work that he forgot he had a life. It wasn’t until he went to record with Kyle and Kyle didn’t show up that it hit him.
He was trying to think up of excuses but none of them felt right. Finally, he just pushed the door open. Kyle didn’t even pick his head up. Miles climbed into bed next to him and pressed kisses along the back of his neck.
“Stop it,” Kyle giggled, “I’m supposed to be mad at you.”
“You should be. I’m just here to say I’m sorry and I’m better when I’m with you and I have no idea why I let myself get so caught up I forget that,” Miles admitted.
Kyle turned and looked at him, “You’re lucky you’re so cute. Otherwise, I wouldn’t forgive you so easily. I get it though. You have work.”
“I have you though,” Miles reminded before pressing a kiss to his boyfriend’s lips.
Kyle just stepped out of the shower after spending a long night of recording with Miles. They needed to over stock on video since they would be traveling and busy in upcoming weeks. Though Kyle was worried about the mass crunch of Resident Evil that Miles might have trouble sleeping the upcoming nights.
He didn’t ask Miles outright if he was going to be okay. He never did. Instead, he tried to distract himself with a shower and also it helped pass the time and gave him an excuse to be awake.
He towel dried his hair as it was another time waster and if Miles was asleep he wouldn’t be woken up by a hair dryer. He took the time to brush his teeth, pick out his sleepwear, get dressed. When he glanced at the clock it was three in the morning. Kyle should have been asleep hours ago but he wanted to make sure Miles was okay first.
He paced a moment outside of Miles’ door trying to think of an excuse for coming into his room if he was awake but after a moment of nothing he gave up. He pushed the door open the light from the small kitchen in their apartment illuminated Miles perfectly. The younger man was very clearly still awake and very tired.
“Kyle,” Miles croaked, blinking at the light.
“Sorry. Couldn’t sleep,” he replied just above a whisper. It was true. He couldn’t sleep without making sure Miles was okay.
Miles just nodded and moved over in his bed offering a spot to Kyle.
Kyle gave him a soft smile and climbed into bed next to Miles before Miles threw the covers over them loosely.
Miles instantly curled up against Kyle and without hesitation, Kyle wrapped his arms around the other male. They both knew Kyle was there. They didn’t have to speak a word though.
“I was asleep,” Miles was the first to break the silence.
“Oh,” Kyle’s voice was laced with disappointment in himself, “I didn’t mean to wake you.”
Miles chuckled softly and shook his head against Kyle’s chest, “I woke up just a few minutes before you showed up.”
“Nightmares?” Kyle asked. Miles nodded slowly. “We don’t have to play scary games anymore. I mean I know people like them but we don’t have to keep doing this.”
Miles hummed softly, “I know but I like the games and your always by my side so it's not so bad then I come home and you’re by my side here.”
“I always will be,” Kyle reassured though he and Miles both already knew that.
It grew quiet again and Kyle slowly traced patterns into Miles’ back. When Miles’ breathing didn’t even out after a few minutes he looked down to see his friend just sort of watching him.
“Miles?” Kyle asked softly.
“Yeah?” Miles responded in the same tone.
“Everything okay?” he asked.
“I think so,” Miles answered before leaning up slowly.
Kyle knew what was coming. He grew impatient, wanting and waiting for years already and closed the gap quickly to finally meet Miles’s lips with his own. The kiss was sweeter than anything he could have imagined but when it finally did Miles spoke up again, “Yeah everything’s okay. So okay.”
