3 Month Drawing Journey Milestone Piece: Gentle Connection Feat. Nyandestar / Meowdestar from Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush
You don’t know what I’m capable of
As a thank you for 800 followers, I finally wrote a part 2 to Blood Money! I hope you enjoy, and again, thank you for all the support and love! 💕
———————————————————————
“Good morning Tesoro, I made your favourite for breakfast since you’ve been behaving so well recently! I also bought you that necklace you said you liked but you can put that on later. For now, eat up!”
Bruno placed the tray holding your breakfast on the bed and smiled down at you expectantly. Once you started eating, he moved away from the bed to finish getting himself ready as per usual.
You ate in silence, feeling nauseated but continuing to eat nonetheless; it’s not that Bruno was a bad cook, quite the contrary, however you just couldn’t seem to stomach his food lately. Maybe your subconscious was warning you there was something off with it?
“Now Amore, I have a meeting with a...client this morning and I’m unsure how long it will take. I expect you to stay on your best behaviour whilst I’m out.”
With that said, Bruno moved back over to the bed and gave you a quick kiss before grabbing the empty tray from your lap and exiting the room. You listened to his footsteps get quieter at he got further away from the bedroom. Soon enough, you couldn’t hear his footsteps anymore but you didn’t dare move. As soon as you heard his car start up from outside and start to drive away, your shoulders dropped as the tension left your body.
Looking to your bedside, you saw the book you had been reading recently. You had finished it last night which meant a visit to the library on the lower floor was needed. Slowly peeling the silk sheets away from your body, you stood up and grabbed your book before leaving the room.
Stepping into the hall, you instantly felt a shiver run down your spine. You spent most of your time in the bedroom, but whenever you did leave, the rest of the house always seems to have this eerie coldness to it.
The house itself had a very minimalistic theme, with the colour scheme being mainly monochromatic and the walls barren of any personal flair. Bruno made a lot of money, but it seems he doesn’t care much for interior design. Not that surprising as he doesn’t spend much time in any room apart from the bedroom, like you.
You arrived at the library soon enough as most of the other rooms in the house were locked so there wasn’t any detours to take. The library was the only place in the entire house that you felt safe in, surrounded by all the books and the natural light of the outside world. God, you missed being able to sit out in the sun and emerge yourself in the world of literature. You stared longingly out the window, wishing for nothing more than to be able to feel the sun on your skin again.
That’s when you noticed it.
One of the larger windows was slightly open. One of the maids must’ve forgot to close it properly when the cleaned in here.
You heard your heartbeat in your ears as thoughts of escaping ran rampant in your head. You could finally be free. You could go back to having a normal life. You could-
You don’t know what I’m capable of
No. It was to risky. You do know what he’s capable of and one of those is tracking you down and bringing you back to him. While you didn’t know how far Bruno’s influence stretched, you did know it was far enough to force you back here in an instant.
But still, you wanted freedom more than anything. If there was even a small chance that you could potentially escape, you had to take it. So with that thought in mind, you slowly pushed the window open enough to fit out of.
When your feet touched the ground for the first time in months, a wave of euphoria rushed through you. Never did you think you’d feel this happy just to be able to breathe the morning air again.
You took one last glance at the house that had been your prison for the past few months. You could just go back in now. You’d had tour moment in the outside. You could just head back inside and go back to living you life as a caged pet. You could avoid the punishment that was sure to come when Bruno inevitably found you. With one last glare, you moved away from the house and towards the forest that surrounded it. How dense it was, you had no idea, but you continued to push on, your eternal freedom steeling your resolve to make it through. As soon as you got through, you’d be able to go back to a peaceful, normal life.
If only it was that easy.
Your legs suddenly gave out on you, not even a metre into the forest. You tried to stand again, but both your arms and legs felt like jelly under the pressure and you collapsed back into the ground.
Panic quickly set in. Why can’t I stand up? What’s happening to me? With all the adrenaline rushing through your body, you didn’t notice the steps slowly approaching you until two familiar shoes were in your line of sight.
“Oh mio caro, I was hoping you wouldn’t take the bait. I had so much faith in you, I’m disappointed.”
The lack of any emotion in Bruno’s voice set you completely on edge. He wasn’t disappointed, he was beyond pissed.
Kneeling down to your height on the ground, he lifted your chin to meet his steely gaze. The pure fury you could see in his eyes terrified you more than you could’ve ever imagined.
“I thought you had adjusted to your new life; I thought you were happy. But apparently you didn’t learn your lesson from last time.
I guess I’ll have to teach you again.”
fly high!
