Me, an intellectual: The only reason Jake Ryan was written cheating on the love of his life, Miley Ray Stewart, was because the writers for whatever goddamn reason wanted to break them up so Miley could end up with Jesse instead after she chose Jake. The way Jake was written out of Miley's life was completely disrespectful to his character and their relationship, and if they'd wanted to convince me they didn't work as a couple they should've kept him in character or at least broken up due to long-distance or something.
