   The light; it was so brilliant and enticing...and such a distance away from where she were bound.

   Tormented by her past, and unable to fathom what had caused a fate to befall the two, the Goddess remained lost in her dark prison, always reaching for the figure that was she, whenever the phantoms light blessed her sight. 

   The unlikely two; one born of light and purity, and the other delivered from darkness and destruction, met in the unlikeliest of places. Adoration became of the Goddess and she so desperately wished to be apart of the other; to feel the warmth that the phantom bore. She was her sunlight--something that had come to mean more to her than anything else existent. In a world of darkness, she brought love and happiness and all sorts of other emotions she never thought to exist. 

   But what could she bring? She had no luminescence or radiance to give. All she had was her love and devotion, or at least the thought of it. But could it ever be enough? Perhaps that is what drew the other away. The incapability of accepting the darkness that came with loving her.

   Despite her efforts to return to her sunlight, the darkness would be overwhelming and drag her back into the depths of the void, where she would be destined to remain afloat in the chaos, isolated, with no other company but her own sorrow. 

   Memories left haunting scars as she dreamed of the other happy--despite how much agony it brought--slowly forgetting her as she became one with the void. Every so often, The Godess would call to her darling, hoping her cry would be audible from the depths of Valhalla, but never hearkened a rejoinder; only her echo.

   Oh, how she craved the embrace of the other, unsure how someone as empty as she, could miss and hunger for something so simplistic; even just the melody of her name leaving the phantoms lips. But fate had never been kind to offer such solace; only torment.

   But as fate would have it, the Goddess stumbled upon her ray of sunlight once more in the realm of darkness' temple; her radiance blinding and intoxicating. But afore touch could be perceived, or an apology uttered, the darkness began to drag her sunlight away, for one as bright as she, had no place in the realm of chaos.To no avail, she had to watch her darling slip from her reach, like smoke between her fingertips, and witness her phantom return to the light, ready to obliterate the other from their thoughts.

    And so despair took her, forcing her to crystallize her body and turn her heart to stone, the torment too much to bare. As the Goddess slumbered, she often wondered if her darling thought of her and knew how much she missed her iridescence, pondering if, perhaps, the phantom loved her, as much as the Goddess did she. And perchance, might gaze upon her fluorescence one more time and be welcomed into her embrace like she once had a lifetime ago. She dreamed one day, she would be blessed with salvation, and able to let the other go. But that time had not yet come to pass, and seemed to be lingering an eternity away.
