earth ghouls are quite literally unearthed during their summoning: they appear from the ground, limbs still attached to the dirt by roots and vines that they have to tear off themself.

when a fire ghoul is summoned, you'll know it's a fire ghoul by the time the entire summoning circle sets on fire. and it's not normal fire either, it's the hell kind of fire. the ghoul will appear from the smoke and flames. it's all very dramatic.

water ghouls are the easiest to summon when it rains. they'll take form slowly, liquid turning to solid. sometimes they'll have tear streams running down their faces. don't worry about that, it's a part of their process of coming into this world.

if a small semi-hurricane of wind forms around the summoning circle, it's an air ghoul. air ghouls prefer to be summoned two or more at a time.

quintessence ghouls have probably the strangest (but also simplest) way of appearing when summoned: they show up in a flash of light, on their knees, already asking who they're there to serve. it's very conveniant.

solar ghouls are similar to quintessence ghouls, except their summoning requires direct contact with sunlight. this is tricky, because it means solar ghouls cannot be summoned when it's cloudy or too dark. this might explain why the clergy rarely summons them.

pure multi-ghouls are devious little devils that quite literally just climb up from hell. the summoning circle opens up and a hand reaches out, and boom, there's a dubious little creature getting up to no good right there. /ref

aargh. nihil being greed bc his own desires destroyed his life. i could make a case for primo being sloth bc his ass did absolutely nothing (/hj). secondo pride obvious and true. terzo lust also obvious and correct.

copia being envy tho. ARGH. going insane over that one tbh. the character literally named "copy". the character who's "not a part of the bloodline", "not a true emeritus", "not ready", "not as good as the others" holy fucking shit. of course he's envy. in his position, you would be too.

primo has such a fascination with human cruelty. obviously the whole elizabeth báthory thing, but ever since they were a child, they've been obsessed with everything relating to death and torture and pain. nobody's quite sure if it's concerning, or if they're just an autistic goth with a darker special interest.

all of the ghouls like to creep around. at night, if they're not in the cuddle pile, they're going around being purposefully weird, hoping someone runs into them in the dark.

imperator is vampire coded. to me. and also just a freak (affectionate) in general. she can do that thing where you look up until your pupils aren't visible anymore, and can and will recite satan prayers in a low voice while doing that just to terrorize christians.
