Mild milkcap (Lactarius subdulcis)
This common and beautiful milkcap has a mild tasting ‘milk’ (the latex that is produced when the gills are damaged), which gives it its common name. It is edible, but not particularly sought after.
Red-Bleeding Milkcap (Lactarius rubrilacteus)
My local woods went a little nuts with the fungus after tropical storm Elsa. I have such a backlog of mushroom pictures because of course I can’t just not take them
Indigo Milk Caps
Okay an irl post of sorts… I’ve started collecting milkcaps and pogs again. Better and more space saving than warhammer I guess. And one of the first gains is a the rare milk cap maker kini. And haha collecting kinis (slammers) were a pain back in the 90s. That hasn’t changed at all lol. Bought a metal kini this morning. I’m so so retro lol 😂
I picked some mushrooms! Common puffball and orange milkcap:
The puffballs tasted a bit underwhelming, so I won't go looking for those again. The milkcaps were thrown out by accident, as they turn blue/green when they are cut and someone mistook it for mold.
