After consulting with Hondo, guests will be led down a jet bridge into a familiar location — the Falcon’s “chess room,” where C-3PO once advised: “Let the Wookiee win.” At this point, guests have already been assigned a flight group and a number. Hondo and Chewie need two pilots (Right controls up and down movement and Hyperdrive) (Left controls going left and right), two gunners, and two flight engineers for each run. An operator will call out the number of each group when it is time for takeoff. Six people ride Smugglers Run at the same time: two pilots, two gunners, and two engineers, all assigned at random by the cast member who organizes the party of six (you can trade positions if you want, though). The gunners push buttons to fire and engineers press things when prompted to fix the ship. Why do they need to fix the ship you ask? Because of the pilots. One pilot controls the vertical movement of the Falcon; the other, the horizontal. Two different people controlling two different movements is like two people trying to control opposite sides of a puppet. If those people aren’t comfortable communicating with each other, the Falcon is going to crash. A lot. And while crashing into stuff can be fun and leads to some funny scenarios, being so dependent on others for your enjoyment of the ride, especially if they’re not in your party, can be incredibly frustrating. Guests are given roles before boarding the Millennium Falcon. Pilots, engineers, and gunners all have different responsibilities during the ride. The ride experience itself will initially take place in between Episode VIII and Episode IX, but will be updated, possibly yearly, as the Star Wars canon changes with new movies. Here are the three missions that will be shown: •Mission Scenario One: Hondo gets you involved in a race on Corellia that he’s sure you can’t lose with the Millennium Falcon. •Mission Scenario Two: Hondo sends you to the First Order Shipyard on Corellia, possibly on a mission for the Resistance. •Mission Scenario Three: Your crew will have to steal some piece of cargo, but the cargo is guarded by a giant monster similar to The Maw from Solo: A Star Wars Story and you’ll have evade the creature like the mythic heroes stealing the treasure from the sleeping dragon.
