Apollo 440 - Film Me, Finish Me Off (1994)
Howard Devoto gave up when Luxuria failed to make even as much impact as the horrifically overlooked Magazine. He went off to spend a decade in a photographic agency as a research archivist. However when Luxuria went tits up there were some songs left over. Noko took two of them with him when he joined The Gray Men to found Apollo 440. Both these songs took cinematic allusions. The longer one, lyrically tweaked by Noko, is Pain Is A Close Up (And Happinness A Longshot).
This, however, is Howard Devoto's Film Me, Finish Me Off, as realised by his once-and-future bandmate and friends, on 1994's Millennium Fever.
