BIOGRAPHY --
Millie Harper wasn’t exactly the easy kind of girl growing up. Having her mother die while she was only eight years old and struggling with her father to help raise her little brother, she was always more reserved than she’d like to be. A fun girl who just wanted to explore and write about everything she saw, the Brooklynite found it hard to leave home. So when they time came for her to leave her brother and father, she chose to go to college close by. Not that Columbia was a second rate choice. Being from New York had its perks and some of those meant that Millie, being as smart and dedicated as she was, could go to Columbia as a ‘close to home’ choice. Still, her father and brother both told her to live in the student dorming for the time being so that she could experience some kind of life outside of her home. Little did they know that it would result in the worst year of Millie’s life. Meeting Eric was a mistake. Not only did he convince her that she was worthless, verbally abusing her any chance he got, but it escalated to him hitting her and that was the last straw for both Millie and her brother Adam. Adam came and saved her from Eric and she moved back home, finishing her schooling and commuting from Brooklyn to NYU after transferring.
Studying English was always an easy option for Millie, she knew what she wanted to do and the minute Eric had ruined her almost completely, she knew what she wanted to write. So taking to her laptop, Millie wrote her first novel and had it published by the time she was 23 years old. Resulting her ability to live in Greenwich Village and live her life as someone who could spend her days writing what she wanted. Now, she’s trying to figure out what the next step is. Being 28, she doesn’t really know where to go. She’s working on her next book and trying to make sure she has everything sorted in her personal life but remembering back to Eric is driving a wedge into her life. She’s still very close to her brother and wants to have a better relationship with her father to improve but she doesn’t know how to fix it. Everything seems like it is out of her control and she’s trying to at least sort herself out as well as her novel. Then again, does anyone in New York City have it figured out?
