So she survived the night. Now she just needs to survive another, but first, she must get through the entirety of the day ahead of her. Not that she thinks it’ll be so bad. In a way, it’s kind of like a big weekend long sleepover, but based on the noticeable tension rising between some folks, not everyone shares her attitude regarding everyone’s current circumstance. She steers clear of those people, even now, as she wanders around in hopes of finding breakfast. Instead, she finds Millie, which is even better. “Hi” Casey throws her arms around the other woman, embracing her in a tight, loving hug. There’s no way to quantify how much time she’s spent in Millie’s home over the years, from kid birthday parties to now bringing over a bottle of wine with perfectly paired snacks. It was a running joke that Millie was her actual best friend, not the oldest child the older woman had given birth to. Regardless, she’s a bright spot in Casey’s life and always has been, someone she loves, trusts, and respects just as much as her own mom and dad. “Are you sleeping in the nurses’ office? Because that’s what I would do. It’d be a little quieter, probably. A little cozier. Kind of like your home away from home. I mean it would definitely beat sleeping in the gymnasium, but you know, it wasn’t actually all that bad last night. Not to me, anyway,” She smiles.
