A Milwaukee County circuit judge has been arrested by the FBI over allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant "evade arrest," according to FBI Director Kash Patel.

Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested on obstruction charges, according to Patel.

"The FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction -- after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week," he posted. "We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject -- an illegal alien -- to evade arrest."

VOTER TURNOUT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Milwaukee County includes the City of Milwaukee and a number of nearby suburbs. Democrats can usually count on getting over 300,000 votes in the county in presidential election years. But in 2016 the party fell short, getting roughly 35,000 fewer votes than in 2012. Donald Trump ended up winning Wisconsin by 22,748 votes. Overall voter turnout in the state was down by 4%.

Right after the abnormally low number of Democratic votes cast in 2016 was the abnormally high number (for a midterm) cast in 2018. In last year’s blue wave  🌊 Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker was beaten by Democratic challenger Tony Evers.

That chart indicates how Republican voters in Milwaukee County have been much more consistent. They don’t have ideological hissy fits or proclaim “The GOP must be punished!” if a candidate they favored in the primary does not get the nomination.

If you really want to get rid of Donald Trump in 2020 then it’s necessary to become more politically active IRL. Retweeting clever memes and downvoting alt-right trolls won’t be enough to evict Trump. Getting people to register and then personally making sure that they vote is what wins elections.

It’s also important to get people not to waste their votes. As mentioned above, Trump took Wisconsin by 22,748 votes. In that same 2016 election, Putin stooge Jill Stein received 31,072 votes; if 22,749 of those delusional fringe voters had picked Hillary instead, Trump would have been denied Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes.

I saw grosbeaks on the first day of my Great Lakes excursion, and this one on the last day, just hours before my flight home. They make nice bookends for a memorable trip, and a good way to end this very long series.
