French Turbotrain in Milwaukee

Later this spring, May 2nd, I'll be presenting to the Blackhawk Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society in Lockport, Illinois: On the Eve of Staggers: Some Midwest Roads in the late-1970s. Here's one image from the talk—an Amtrak French turbo train (RTG) is approaching Milwaukee. It's seen here at National Avenue; I was looking southward along the CMStP&P toward Chicago.

Rondout, Three of Three

My final post on the former Milwaukee Road double-track mainline between Chicago and Milwaukee at Rondout, Illinois.

The third train I saw in a very short amount of time was this Chicago-bound Hiawatha. These trains are configured very much like the ones that run through my home turf in southern Michigan.
