A Familiar Saved from a Wraith
This world, was a broken world. Disgust welled deep in the throat of This Dark Lord. It was a disgrace, a shattered dimension that existed as a monument of faliure. Burn it to cinders and leave nothing but ash would be but a mercy, yet there remained one facet that laid waste to that course of action. Her. All things began, and all things ended, at her. That was the way of the true world, but more literally it was the way of this world as well. As all things began, but never truly end. Each failure to cleanse her, to save her, was etched into his mind and body like scars. There was only so much his eyes could handle the burning light of purification, of the resetting of a Universe. Where once flame burned his eyes blind, this force would blind his very essence, until he was but a shadow of himself, and all others of this realm would be as well. A true hellscape, a land of shadows and wraiths, a laughable mockery, distorted and broken, to the true world. To fail was not another option. Veigar grasped at the side of his arm, the etchings of past mistakes wailed in silence, as flakes of blue arcane energy fled from his form. He would not unravel and unwind, for so long as this world’s strange power existed, Mimi, was not the woman she was destined by fate to be. The flaring of energy subsided, his form recollecting itself as a wraith of shadowy flesh and wicked grim appearance, no smile of light on his face, just two sharp diamond like eyes that pierced out from abyssal darkness. “You are tread calmly, for one alone in such a dark place.” Words echoed, as if spoken by many, softly carried through the winds of the dead night. Eyes that glowed with a dull yellow seemed to fixate on both her, and the strange creature by her side. The Man born of shadows walked out from the very thing that formed him, melding perfectly out from the shade of silver trees. For a moment it stared, silent, its eyes unblinking and unmoving, for a moment, it seemed that it would lung out at her, lashing her very body to pieces like a beast of the night. Yet the only sudden movement it made, was an elegant bow, deep and respectful. “I had not seen you in these forests before. This is most truly a shame... What brings you here, what may I call you, and where do you go?” His voice trailed around her, slow like a predator circling prey, even if his body stayed still in its deep bow.
