“Anon, yes, you must be referring to The Restoration from when I was in Chief Scott’s office….Yes, I am fine.” She smiled softly, still in slight pain from the turn of events following The Restoration. “He is taking care of me. Though I think he worries a little too much sometimes.” She lightly chuckled, doing a good job of hiding the blush that would have otherwise risen to her cheeks. Thinking about the badge demon made her heart throb more than it should. 

But she needed to wait, and focus on Evan’s killer before anything else. “But again, I promise you, dear Anon, I am doing better than had I tried to force myself home.” She nervously giggled, slightly embarrassed by her own stubbornness sometimes.

My reflection

I know I’m not the prettiest demon. I’m missing my right leg and my face and neck are permanently scarred.

But long ago, when she was alive, I was happy. She was my family. She was my smile, my light, my eyes in the darkness.

She’s gone now. And she took a large part of me with her. I can’t see the same way I used to now...  It’s as if looking at everything through broken glasses…

And yet I digress; I’m in a new space, with new company. I want to try to move on and be happier. So I hope I can find my place here, taking each day with a smile on my face...
