"Mom didn't die to make me sad" is such a poignant line. It's entirely fitting with Mimin's personality and character arc, but it is also a wonderful way of reframing the concept of grief. Mimin knows that her mother wanted all of the kids to be happy, so instead of wallowing in the grief of losing her mother she continues to embrace living life to make the most of it, but now with the added perspective of making sure that she's living a life that would make her mom happy.
