No. 18 and 30!
Anime Asks
18.10 worst anime you have watched- Out of all the anime I’ve watched in m 21 years, the only one that I absolutely hate is the Fruits Basket anime. It had so much potential, and it blew it. Big time. Like, why. It didn’t do the manga justice at all. The only good thing about it is the comedy and the cemetery scene at the end of the anime. Also not a fan of Rosario + Vampire. Too much fanservice. And the Corpse Party OVA sucked. It did not stay true to the game.
30. one anime conclusion you would change- I’d change the end of danganronpa 3. Juzo DESERVED TO LIVE.
Did I mention I love my RP partner? I mean, recently.
Also @seadeeps and @mimozemske and @snowcappedquinceanera ; they are also loved
Aaaaaa sorry I’m so late, @mimozemske >.< I’m your Secret Santa! :D I made you some Kendappa/Souma fluff as you asked, I hope you like it! Happy new year~
Do that ask meme with jooooou ♪
(also answering that beautiful JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO anon)
1: sexuality headcanon: I see almost every character ever as either bisexual/pansexual or asexual, even though most of them are only in heterosexual relationships in the canon. I can’t help it. Like, Jyou would date both Yamato and Mimi to me (and his secret non-human girlfriend from Tri., apparently hehe).2: otp: aaaa don’t really have an otp with him, but I find Jyoumi and Jyoumato very cute tho3: brotp: JYOU AND GOMAMON/ yama/ sora! him with sora is pure gold honestly I need them to be buddies in Tri4: notp: JYOU AND GOMAMON TOO5: first headcanon that pops into my head: Contrary to popular belief, Jyou Kido does not fear cockroaches. He steps on them without mercy and only cries for a few minutes then6: favorite line from this character: I honestly can’t remember it, but I love his dialogue with Mimi in Adventure when he says she’s not selfish.7: one way in which I relate to this character: he is me8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: poor thing ruins conversations9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? cinnamon roll <3 problematic fave/ sinnamon roll is gomamon tbh
thank you for asking!!
Hey, Beth (can I call you Beth?)! Could you explain what are the differences between fma03!Ed and fmab/manga!Ed? It's been a few years since I last watched fma03 and I don't really remember what made them different from each other, haha
omg absolutely! and ahhhh this is such a detailed subject but I’ll try to keep it short and sweet if possible.
see, there are two basic “sides” to Ed or facets of his personality: there’s the reckless badass who thinks he can do anything, and there’s the quieter, bookish Ed who is highly logical and loves learning (this one seems to be less focused on in the fandom for some reason, but is a huge part of manga canon). these are the same thing ultimately, of course, and are both equally a part of his personality, but most people seem to pick one or the other to play up in their own understanding of his character. I think 03’s creators (like a lot of fanfic writers) mostly picked up on the first aspect and developed his character from there. he’s a genius still in 03, yes, but he’s also far rasher, more impulsive, headstrong, and “in the moment.” though on the surface there would appear to be little difference, if you notice, mangaverse/brohood Ed does have these qualities but they are more balanced. in both universes his hotheaded nature eventually mellows somewhat, which makes it even harder to pick up on the nuances of characterization if you’re not looking at it from an in-depth, purely psychological point of view, but suffice it to say that m/b Ed would have been highly unlikely to blow up an island and risk drowning himself and Al (especially knowing Al’s weakness to water) just because he took an arbitrary dislike to its presence. a lot of this stuff (such as an early scene where he kicks Al into a lake while sparring) were played off for humor rather than characterization purposes but nevertheless, they make a difference when dealing with consequences as serious as putting both Elrics’ lives in danger.03 Ed is also cockier, as seen in the scene on the train right before his state alchemist exam, where he exclaims “What am I worrying about? With talent like mine, this oughta be a cakewalk for me!” In contrast, m/b Ed is rarely seen expressing confidence in his own innate alchemical ability; this is left to other characters to exclaim what a prodigy he is. He knows he’s famous; he knows he’s gifted, but as we see most notably in Volume 5 chapter 20 where he states “I’m no genius. I just saw that thing, that’s all,” he apparently believes that his talent stems from having seen the Truth rather than any inherent genius. this is partly true, as previous to seeing the inside of the Gate he would have been unable to perform a soul transmutation, but a lot of his intelligence and Al’s is purely a natural gift, which neither of them seems particularly aware of other than it being the source of their mom’s praise which encouraged them to study harder. personally, I think a lot of this is because what seems to impress people, what they talk about, is his ability to transmute without a circle, a gift which is entirely Truth-related. however, what makes Ed special is not this, but his mind, his innovative technique, his restless intellect and comprehension level for high-level alchemy; all these things he is more or less unaware of as they relate to his supposed “prodigy” status.
m/b Ed also develops a completely different set of morals than 03 Ed. this is partly because of plot events and forces in their lives which shaped their personalities in different ways (m/b Ed was never forced to choose between sacrificing a room full of prisoners and regaining his brother’s body, for instance). we see 03 Ed initially reluctant to make this sort of compromise, but never as completely, passionately averse to it as m/b Ed — even early on in the 2003 anime, in a scene that is never referenced again despite being the first time Ed is shown to actually kill someone, he fights an alchemist named Marjahal who ends up impaled on his own sword. then, later on, he and Greed fight to the death next to Greed’s human remains, and Greed dies impaled by Ed’s automail arm sword. now, here, Ed is shown to have an extreme emotional reaction; he completely falls apart, and actually screams and sobs next to Greed’s body. after these events, he muses several times on the nature of killing, seeming to view it as a necessary measure to be learned as a part of maturity, and states that he plans to “end” Scar if he and Al can find him. in contrast, brohood Ed outright refuses to even consider killing as an alternative (which is seen by several other characters as being very naive), and is highly outspoken on the issue; he even ends up with what is perhaps his worst near-death injury of the entire series because of his decision to avoid lethal methods when fighting Kimblee and his chimeras.
these are just a few of the most significant differences I can think of off the top of my head; I guess I ended up rambling a bit after all lmao can you tell this stuff is important to me. thank you so much for this question; I can’t believe anyone reads my tags that carefully tbh. tysm!!

Please do. It’s fun. It’s most intense scene is when the milk goes out of date. It’s happy! And it’s like very relevant today?
