The subunit for TRITON was announced at the end of the last month. While most fans took it as a good sign, as it meant the group was likely not disbanding, there were many seashells who protested that their biases were not a part of the subunit. Seashells that were fans of Leo were particularly vocal and petitioned Wingspan Entertainment. They stated that Leo was clearly being discriminated against, as he was clearly being excluded from ‘the hyungline’. Especially amid rumors that Leo is hoping to break his contract with Wingspan, the tension quickly began to escalate between the company and this vocal group.
Other fans, though disappointed, were much more understanding, as the past few years Leo has been the one most active outside of the group. He has acted in several roles and performed on OSTs. He is also incredibly coveted for his commercial work and has had a recent endorsement with Chanel. With such a busy schedule, it is easy to see how Leo would be passed up for the subunit. Unfortunately, many seashells did not see it this way and rented a van to protest outside Wingspan.
Wingspan announced that after careful consideration, they have decided to add Leo to the lineup of the subunit. The concept and debut single will be announced closer to the release.
