Running Red Lights --- Liner Notes <3
My Family--- You are a VERY necessary structure to keep things balanced... (even though I wasn't always the best at returning the favor...) Thank you so much for tolerating everything: the late nights, the mood swings, the lock ins... You loved me enough to let me do what I do with no complaints. Mom and Dad, I told you I wanted to do this and the day is finally here!!!! Thank you both for sacrificing EVERYTHING in order for your children to have a better life with better opportunities. I just hope I make you proud. Vous me manquez beaucoup et ANII N'MOUTS ALIIIKOUM! And to my little Rena Beana Pork n Beana..., mommy does this for you. Never stop dreaming, Princess. I love you.
Mary Ann Casey, Melvin Goodwyn, and Lara Brittain--- You knew I wanted this more than anything. But you held me accountable, and made me realize that music was more than just having talent. That it was art, and should be handled with care and that as students, we should respect the music which came before us. You could never understand how much your teachings mean to me. Thank you, truly. <3
To My Friends--- I mean...you all know who you are. Do I really have to list all of you? *giggle* In all seriousness though, you were there for this whole process. You witnessed my triumphs and lifted me up during my trials. My stories, your stories...make up 95% of this project. Thank you for sharing your personal lives with me and inspiring me to write these songs. You all will live forever in them. Here in Okinawa...or back home in the DMV-- distance will never keep us too far. I love you all! <3
Tef Wesley and ST/MiC--- WE DID IT! We believed in the music, set out to create it, and executed it to the very best of our abilities. Without you both, this project would not exist. Thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, devotion, and loyalty to me, and to this project. The world finally gets to hear our efforts come to fruition. I am honored to have worked with two of the most amazingly talented individuals, and I'm glad the universe gets to experience this....this...sonic masterpiece. Cheers!
Waterloo, K-BETA, TL Brown, Jose Tinajero, Yusef, Grussle, and Chris "q-Visions" Quiroz--- You all have played such a vital role in the creation of this album. You shared your talents, and by that, entrusted me with your creations. For believing in me before you even truly knew me, thank you. Words can't express how grateful I am to have your names alongside mine on this project. #salute Sidenote: to Owen "Yoda" Dolan... you sir...are...amazing. Thank you.
Jamie Locklear c/o Linear Sound--- We talked about this day, and it's finally here. You were one of the first invest your time and your energy into helping me make my dreams come true in real life. I will never forget your kindness. Ever. <3
Indie Music Supporters--- You are DJs, Bloggers, and Photographers. Videographers, Promoters, and Event Coordinators. You are Venue Owners, Radio Stations, and Graphic Designers. You are Anyone, and Everyone who helps people like me take my art to the next level. You are important. You are appreciated. You are needed. The Indie Music Community is nothing without you. Nothing. Thank you, truly for supporting us....most of all, thank you for helping me share my music with the masses. #Love
And to my Fans--- Without you, I am nothing, nada, zilch. You are the reasons. For every email, every Facebook message, every tweet, every letter, every single day... You fueled the machine, you helped me remember to never give up, no matter what, and that you would stand by my side no matter the circumstance. And so I stand, tall I might add... and I'm blessed beyond anything that is tangible that you all are in my life somehow or another. You believe in me, and that my friends, means the universe to me. The absolute universe. Thank you.
<3 Always,
Mina
