SONG OF THE WEEK: Each week I’ll try to post a song which I like or which affects me in some way. This week’s featured song is "It's A Fine Day" from the album "Mind Fruit" by the British house music group Opus III, which despite its name was actually a quartet led by Kirsty Hawkshaw. The remake of a poem-turned-song by Jane and Barton hit No. 5 in the UK and No. 1 on the US dance charts in 1992. The record was later churned by Orbital for their hit "Halcyon + On + On" in 1993, and updated twice by Hawkshaw. I heard the song on the BBC "Top Twenty" radio show and waited a year before buying the cass-single (remember them?) at Tower Records (remember them?), but then lost it. Twenty years (!) later I finally found the tune on YouTube, which I present here, so enjoy 3+ minutes of optimism.
