mallow: what sorts of things might remind your muse of those close to them? any scents, objects, sounds?

roses remind connor pretty heavily of amanda. flowers in general, really, but especially roses since she always seems to be taking care of them. and she’s just robot president snow change my mind

music tends to remind connor of hank, namely heavy metal and jazz music. especially jazz, even though he’s only listened to a snippet from his metal collection. jazz just fits him better.

aubergine: does your muse prefer the day, or are they more of a night-owl?

connor is more prone to working at night, he’s definitely more comfortable with the nighttime too. he’s built for it! most murders happen at night anyways! he’s good with the daytime as long as it’s cloudy, but bright sunlight usually makes seeing a little difficult.

acacia: how much does it take for your muse to hate someone?

hate is a strong word for someone that doesn’t have a lot of feelings, but connor does frequently hold disdain and hatred for anyone that interferes with his investigations or missions. he also has a tendency to really get upset whenever he runs into anyone he can’t quite adjust himself to talking with/working with. anyone that makes him seem imperfect really grinds his beans.

9. How do they manifest energy, exhaustion, tension, or other strong emotions?

oh he does everything in his power not to do that. he’s a huge fan of rationalizing his emotions rather than expressing them. sometimes if connor can’t, he’ll just state something as fact rather than opinion. like instead of saying “it really hurts me when you do that” he might say “it’s not in your best interest to continue doing this”. 

as a result, some things might give off a reeeally muddled message or just the absolute wrong idea, but connor’s doing it with everyone’s best interest you know. not adding another deviant to the clown house. dw about it. getting emotionally exhausted kind of causes him to go into sleep mode. he’ll just have to step away and cool off for a spell.

10. What energizes and drains them most?

before doing investigations and collecting information, connor does coin tricks to sort of... psyche himself up if we’re talking in People Terms(tm), but on a machine term it’s to like... calibrate his functions. bottom line, doing stupid coin tricks gets him hyped. hackey sack tricks and fidget spinners might work in a pinch though (please don’t give him a fidget spinner this is a bad joke)

emotions are really draining. trying to say that he’s not a deviant is really draining. living is really draining. having to send in police reports can be kind of draining, since that’s usually when the whole “okay let’s see how the fuck everything is working” happens. being a fuckin. trial version of a robot makes a lot of things kind of draining. weirdly not running and chasing fools though

38. Is there anything they wish they could change about their worldview or thought processes? What, and why?

well, if anything connor wishes he didn’t have deviant-adjacent tendencies? it’s just. he’s a prototype first and foremost. he wants to be perfect, he doesn’t really want there to be a need for something greater. if he doesn’t fuck up and have ‘feelings’ and show ‘:b:empathy’ it won’t really be needed. god he hates that he hates being rebuilt and doesn’t wanna die, though. it adds a lot to that whole ‘fuckin i’m gonna be a deviant and get killed’ fear constantly breathing down his neck.

Do they dream? What are those dreams like?

i feel like realistically connor wouldn’t but i’ll play in the space. let’s... let’s play in the space.

he less has dreams and more just reviews of things that happened in his memory. idling is more or less a chance to further access memories of past connors or further analyze moments that he’s already gone through.

it’s a chance to sort of improve his features to whatever extent he can. he is a prototype, after all. a very advanced one, but he’s still not perfect. re-experiencing things that happened and figuring out what went wrong is the most practical thing he can do... 

if there are any glitches in his programming, however some recordings of past events may have some elements that are sort of made up like people that aren’t there or misplacement of certain facial features. but they’re fortunately easy to decipher.

but no, his mind doesn’t really wander all that much to make things up while unconscious like humans do.

11. How are they vocally expressive? What kind of voice, accent, tones, inflections, volume, phrases and slang, and manner of speaking do they use?

connor speaks with sort of a matter-of-fact tone that doesn’t really vary too much in terms of (pretend this is small text) ‘emotion’ but he does have a tendency to take a lot of hard stops when he’s trying to feel or express his emotions.

he makes a huge effort, generally speaking, to be polite and considerate of whoever he’s speaking with. even when he’s being kind of passive aggressive or making some kind of sarcastic jab at someone, he sounds pretty stilted and stiff. 

connor’s voice is extremely clear, also. he enunciates very well, mistaking what he says is gonna be... a really hard thing to lie about. he definitely speaks louder than most people, but not really to call it yelling or guy fieri levels just... louder.
