Mugwatch! Those mugs certainly look familiar.

B5 rewatch - some thoughts about Mind War
fun introduction to the psy corps. walter koenig absolutely nailed the performance for a character who is at his core just slimey and unpleasant, and he seemed like he was having a great time doing it. one minor detail I thought was funny was that Talia mentions receiving letters. are they paper letters? probably not, but it's fun to imagine that writers in the 90's thought that people several hundred years in the future would exchange actual mail. I also appreciated the chance this time around to notice that during the scanning scene, every time something happened to Talia they would cut to show Ivanova's reaction
Mind War!
The opening looks like an accident with a magenta toner cartridge.
Catherine is back! I honestly thought it was 50/50 whether we'd see her again, and I wasn't expecting it so soon. Today she seems to be on exposition duty.
And Chekov is here!!! Extremely weird seeing him in a very non-Chekov role and a scary black uniform.
He's also genuinely good in this in a way I wasn't expecting. I enjoyed "Anatomically impossible, but you're welcome to try."
Though once again Ivanova gets the best lines: "Lady, you are the problem." <3
Catherine is much more interesting when she's not with Sinclair.
I appreciate how awful this episode makes being a telepath sound, even aside from the shadowy organisation controlling them.
And we finish with vast and mysterious aliens beyond our understanding, which is a trope that I can never get enough of.
Another great episode. I'm finding it hard to restrict myself to only one per week.
This week's episode of the Babylon 5 rewatch is the first episode of Babylon 5 I ever saw, back when it first aired. I'd seen ads for some of the earlier episodes and thought it might be interesting, but made the extra effort to catch this episode because I recognised the guest star. (Which just goes to show that casting familiar faces does sometimes work.)
And the guest star was good, but it was the ant scene that really persuaded me to stick around.
