For my Roman girlies 💖
Larry Trainor & Cliff Steele in S01E04 CULT PATROL
Medieval AU Dick is married to the powerful count of Gotham Bruce, but his position is precarious. He's been unable to give him children so they adopted, but Bruce's mistress Talia is pregnant so Bruce is looking to annul his marriage. Enter count Slade, who went through a very messy divorce and has a tuburlent situation in his lands. Slade falls head over heels for Dick and kidnaps him. Dick finds him handsome and the sex is good. The only caveat is that unlike what they thought Dick isn't barren. He's quite fertile in fact. Cue even more succession problems.
archaic/mythology greek times Sladick AU barbarian (as in not of greek culture) Slade who is the tyrant of Akleios (fictionial city) who one day spots the adoptive son of the king of Gotham and is head over heels for him and kidnaps him
"What does it matter?"
"Never said it mattered," Slade grunted.
It didn't matter. Grayson was free to do as he pleased. It wasn't like he could do a lot to stop that from happening anyway.
"So why are you asking me?" the kid insisted.
Slade shrugged.
"Just curious."
"In the five years we've been together you've never asked me anything about any of my exes and now you're asking me how I lost my virginity."
Slade sighed. Why did he ask when he already knew the answer, anyway? Maybe he hoped that it wasn't true.
"I told you, I was just curious. Why are you getting hysterical about it?" he grunted.
Dick straddled him, crossing his arms and looking serious. Slade mentally cursed himself for being an idiot.
"Why are you asking?" the kid interrogated him.
"Get off me, Grayson."
"Why are you asking?"
Slade flipped them over in the blink of an eye, making Dick squeak as he found himself pressed into the mattress and caged by Slade's body.
"Leave it," he warned the kid darkly.
He watched Dick swallow, nervousness showing in his eyes. He got up from the bed and started looking for his clothes.
"You're leaving?" the kid asked, incredulous, sitting up.
"What does it matter?" Slade shot tartly.
Dick didn't answer, but the blow clearly hurt. Slade felt a bit guilty. He was letting his bitterness get the best of him. That Liu woman was already dead, after all. There was nothing Slade could do about it.
Dick teaches Slade some ballroom dances for a mission and Dick has to keep himself from screaming because Slade's hand is warm and heavy on his hip, and he looks like he's searching Dick's soul each time they lock eyes.
15 Jaytim!
“Doesn’t mean anything,” Jason shrugs, looking anywhere but in Tim’s direction.
He knows what awaits him anyway: he’s arms crossed, looking deeply unimpressed.
“I’m going to reformulate my question since you’re clearly lost some brain cells in yesterday’s fight: why are you giving me a ring?”
Jason brusquely shrugs.
“If you don’t want it I’m taking it back,” he grumbles, reaching for the small box, but Tim jumps on it like a tiger.
“Ah, ah, ah! You can’t take back a gift!”
“Then just fucking accept it and shut the fuck up!”
“I’m just curious! You just give me a ring out of the blue and I’m supposed to shrug it off?!”
“Yeah!”
“Well fuck you!”
“No, fuck you!”
Jason tries to swat him on the head and Tim gracefully dodges him, crouching down. He smashes his face in Jason’s hip, nuzzling his crotch as Jason tries to knee him in the face. Tim makes him lose his balance, and they find themselves sprawled on the floor. Tim cages him with his body, sitting astride on his hips as he holds his wrists prisoner above Jason’s head.
“How about I show you what kind of ring I want for you?” Tim whispers wickedly, and Jason shudders with arousal.
Honestly I am really unsatisfied with the way DC has handled Nora over the past decade. Nora was never truly a character; she was essentially the motivation of Mr Freeze and an essential part of his backstory but we never get to know her. The rare flashbacks we get are from Victor's point of view.
DC has tried to remedy that, notably by making her villain in both pre and post-Flashpoint timelines (I am excluding here New 52). I find the move incredibly dumb. Not only because the change is useless, as we have never seen Nora alive and well before that, but also because imo this is lazy writing. Rather than take the risk to change Freeze as a character, the writers decide to essentially keep him the same but separated from Nora which effectively makes him hollow.
I have no hope for Nora in the main, current timeline but I would like to see her have her own miniseries set in its own timeline. Perhaps a DC Black Label run. Nora as a character is essentially a blank canvas and comes with many possibilities. Stories centered around her could talk about illness, grief, death, examine illness and gender... But I think that for a story like that to work, Freeze would have to be absent of the plot, lest the story once again becomes centered around him. Stories centering around the female experience of sickness would be really interesting, especially since it would touch upon themes like body autonomy, body image, grief, death... These types of stories usually are deeply personal, so having a writer who has a life experience with that could truly make for an incredible story. How do you live after being essentially dead to the world for so many years? How do you handle the harm that has been done in your name? How do you face the man you love that has become something else entirely?
