(The First Ask: Cuddles Edition, Pt. I)

(Ask here! Pt.II Hi and hello everyone!! Here’s our first ever fic post on this account, we’re both elated and excited to start something new for a certain arachnid man lol, considering this ask posed two differing things I thought it’d be smart to split them into a duo so I can give both their own attention! I hope to churn out the second soon!)

It was supposed to be a normal night, well, his version of normal as late as he was doing what he’s been doing for several nights in a row already- Rather than do what he usually did.. Hunt for food, feast upon what he can, indulge in those violent urges his sister species, spiders, are known for.. But now he finds himself waiting till they’re all nice and asleep, slink in through an entrance the reader doesn’t seem to know exists (whether it be a building flaw from the world generating or a little happy accident on the readers part, we’ll put it up for interpretation), be as quiet as possible as he finds his place– Standing over them, ignoring the feeling of hunger, the emptiness in his gut and the drool finding itself dripping down to the readers carpet, mixing his feelings for the reader and that innate urge for sustenance... Little does he know, this night is different, whether it be due to him maybe standing a bit closer than usual by accident, or a new sleeping habit-

He doesn’t really get to think about it before he’s pulled in, something that didn’t even cross his mind the slightest, impossible even. But it happens, one second he’s looming over the unconscious form of the object of his current affections, silently admiring every little unique feature of theirs with tunnel vision, rose-tinted glasses pinned onto them and them alone every chance he could get. Every shallow breath and incoherent mumble just another thing he locks into his head, studying them like a priceless piece of art you’re never meant to touch lest you ruin it… Even if you really wanted to. The next he’s grabbed with an unreal amount of strength from the sleeping human and cuddled like a beloved stuffed animal. The mere thought of touching them was enough to make his head dizzy usually, and I think a part of him was hesitant to…

For obvious reasons, but the choice is almost immediately chosen for him in that very moment– So many sensations, emotions, thoughts, it was all so overwhelming for him- Their warm breath brushing against his inhuman form, arms wrapped around him as well as they could considering his glaringly obvious size difference between the duo, the familiar smell of them he has become well accustomed to is filling him with all the fuzziness in the world. The beating of their heart was almost addicting, one of his hands finding itself on their chest, its slow unassuming beats vibrating against his palm, the drooling finds itself against their sheets-- The life in front of him was enough to make that primal part of his brain buzz in the back of his head- Ignored.

Every little thing about this whole event makes his yearning little heart run a mile a minute, hesitantly going and placing nervous hands on them, their warmth feeling alien underneath large clumsy clawed hands, the up and down motions of their chest as they breathed were enough to make him breathless. It only increased his rather unorthodox fondness for them tenfold, never wanting this moment to end– He needed it to never end, the feeling of being held onto like something cherished, all those years of seeing villagers displaying a familiar motion of closeness always made him both curious and jealous, curious as to how it feels, and jealous at the underlying fact that he may never feel it for himself, not when he is what he is… But now? He experienced it for himself, he actually experienced it for himself, feeling as though he’s experienced paradise for the first time. The hours tick by but he doesn’t sleep, way too exhilarated to even parse the concept of rest before he has to pull away, pry their unusually strong hands off of him lest he frightens them…

The last thing he’d ever want to do to his beloved, though the signs of his presence are there if you look hard enough... An unexplainable wet patch on the carpet, on the sheets too, a messed-up pillow with strands of what seemed to be fur if the reader was to look deeper into everything. He’s left hollow afterwards, every hour, minute, and second that tick by is a barrier between him and that special moment, hoping he’ll be able to feel their arms around him once more, hoping it wasn’t a one-time thing… Oh, to yearn.. To be obsessed.

(The First Ask: Flower Crown Edition, Pt. II)

(Ask here! Pt. I Yayayaa, this was a rather easy one, and I think I’m pretty satisfied with it! I hope you guys like it ♡)

The day was a simple one for the reader, the world being exactly what it is– bees buzzing around, the straggling mobs ducked either under the trees or aimlessly wandering around, purposeless when they don’t have a target in their line of sight, or the remnants of their bodies left behind to pick up if they so choose… The distant voices of villagers ring through the air, it’s all so familiar, same old same old. But there was a significant thing to note, or rather someone to note; the anomalous creature, a mix of human and spider in appearance, a creature the reader has come to name Lenny… Mostly because it felt disjointed to simply call him ‘the creature’ whenever they referred to it- Or rather him, the days previously the reader has come to generate a sense of… Affection for him, it wasn’t exactly hard to, he just has this thing about him, something that warranted a closer “examination” or fostering.

He’s an odd being in nature, it was a good excuse, a good reasoning to what made them react to him more positively than most other mobs– As looming & mysterious as an enderman but as docile as a spider during the day, almost always close in some way, observing, an intelligence that seemed only grow the more he was around them, trying to mimic them, though most attempts are short of being natural… And due to seemingly harmless deposition, it didn’t hurt to humor him, at least a little, feed into that apparent need for knowledge. So this is what warrants them to make a flower crown- Something hadn’t really done before, taking a bit of trial and error before they got something of merit, something acceptable enough to give the creepy crawly they’ve come to care about. It wouldn’t hurt- They reasoned, the worst that could happen was that he would reject it, but the nerves still frayed at them a bit. There was a hesitation, but it wasn’t enough to dissuade of course, finding him wasn’t difficult, and approaching him was even easier.

Of course he didn’t know what it was, though didn’t seem harmless, the varying sensations of the bound together flowers, the softness of the pedals, the ribbed feeling of the raised lines of the leaves, the solid sensation of the stems- He chirred in curiosity, taking it from them fully, taking the opportunity to ‘accidentally’ graze his fingers against their own, it was enough to make his heart buzz in excitement. He took the time to examine it, bring it close to his face, smelling it with the use of his pedipalps (the leg-like appendages spiders have near their mouths for reference), and he turned it around, every part of it before being interjected by the reader, hoping to help him comprehend the object. Gestures gentle as ever as they softly take the crown from him, motioning him to duck down, and he does, albeit a bit hesitantly due to his confusion.. But he does it; and the sensation of the object being placed on his head, a noise of droning emitting from his wide maw, warrants them to explain.. “It’s a crown.” They murmured, “A gift, for you.”

The words were soft, sweet, and they were everything to him, a gift? For him? He learned about the concept of gifts previously, mostly from seeing the villagers interact, they were his previous frame of reference that he used to be what he was, but that was before he found the reader- A being that was different, different like him, who gave him attention unlike any of other mob, who seemed to perceive him positively, something that was only proven further when gifted him this.. It was enough to make him trill in delight, limbs flicking wildly as he ran his fingers over the crown, treating it with a sense of reverence and gentleness he wasn’t known for. Something shifted, it was as if the stars aligned and everything in the world just felt right- Yes it was a feeling he’s felt to some degree previously, all conveniently in the vicinity of the reader, but it felt all encompassing at that moment.

His resolve only hardens, and he’s felt with an overwhelming warmth in his chest, a feeling that transpires every time he touches it, actively mourning the loss of it when it inevitably wilts, becoming too brittle to wear anymore… Leading to him practically begging for another, whining and whimpering inhumanely as it holds up the dull crown, though he doesn’t exactly have much of a capacity to do so in a manner that he is satisfied with just yet– Forcing it most of the time, but it's rather obvious what he wants… Safe to say he likes it.. Adores it… Loves it… And rest assured, he’d want nothing more than to reciprocate this, though his gift isn’t nearly as pretty…

(Robot Reader Edition)

(Ask here! Hello again my friends! I hope everyone is having a great day, I am currently going through the home stretch of the final semester for my first year in college, it's been one hell of a ride, but a satisfying one. I hope this addition to the blog is satisfactory @mothmince. <3) Word Count: 773

- Firstly, in a world where there’s iron, copper, and snow golems, a robot wouldn’t technically be much of a stretch, though of course the reader is different from a golem- I don’t think Lenny realizes it till the reader says something about it, being something entirely new and different from the rest of the world, I’m certain Lenny would construct a sort kinship due to that, bonding over the fact that they don’t have anyone from their respective origins to really connect with– Lenny with the spiders and the reader with the golems, similar, but completely disconnected in one way or another. 

- He’s eager to know more about them, touching the surface of their chassis with a sense of wonder, chittering softly to himself at every scuff or damage sustained during their time in the world, silently worshipping every flaw, the coldness of their body appealing to his own far warmer body heat– If they have a charging station I can see him pouting at the fact he can’t really cuddle them, holding their hand has to do. 

- Speaking of hands, I can see him spending a lot of time studying them, the mimicry of something natural contrasting with his own unnatural hands, long fingers running against cold metal, the metallic hum of their voicebox soothing in a weird manner he doesn’t contest when they tell him to do something. 

- If they ever need to repair themselves in a way they can’t I’m more than confident he’d be more than happy to help, he has a thing for learning after all, harvesting supplies from the ground with eerily human-like efficiency that only gets more fluid the more he does it. 

- He definitely mimics certain tics of the reader as well, his way of speaking ultimately sounding more robotic due to it, having learnt it from none other than them from observations. Always eager to please and get something in return due to his rather clingy and controlling behavior, creating a sort of reward system between the two. 

- Makes me think back to The Wild Robot movie, the way Roz goes from completely logical and analytical, using her head, then slowly finds herself using her hearts and making hard decisions for the sake of Brightbill, I can definitely see this sort of the relationship occurring between Lenny and the reader, however it’s obviously different– Becoming something a previous version of the reader would’ve never even considered as an variable; love.

- There’s only so much that can be graphed, predicted, and broken down into points or actions in their code, having to think on your feet for not only Lenny, but their own self-preservation against hostile mobs that want nothing but to see them broken down, and unlike a human reader, respawning in the traditional sense may not even be a thing they can parse mentally– They not even know that is an option– Just knowing there’s an expiration date on their lifespan, what if they can’t replace something that is damaged on their body? What if something gets weathered to a catastrophic degree, it’s existential things that make Lenny scratch at his head in confusion when the reader shares their fears to him, inhuman voice warbling softly as he tries to get comfortable while laying on the grassy fields while stargazing with the reader, learning about star constructs from the readers database– A relic of the past, a whisper of what used to be and now what remains. 

- I can see the reader’s database being a vast thing, so many pieces of human intelligence in lock and keep, something to look at logically then and now with more complex emotions, a sense of melancholy, knowing there’s a chance their creators are long dead, including their culture, dialect, and all those little things programmed into the reader’s sense of self, things that Lenny no doubt observes and mimics in a way that makes the reader happy, yet devastated that no one else will really be amazed by his progress in a way they are. 

- At least they aren’t alone anymore, he’s always lurking somewhere close, silently captivated by the glow of the reader's screen glowing dimly in the late afternoon farming and herding stock animals that Lenny will no doubt feast upon later on; he’s the reason they do it in the first place… That and maybe a dog or two to care for to make the reader feel as though they have a purpose and task to fulfill as a means of not feeling meaningless. 

- In general, it’s a very interesting dynamic, machine and flesh, bonding over being peculiar in their own ways.

(Boyfriend Reader Edition)

(Ask here! This is rare air for me everyone!)

For someone or rather more accurately something like Lenny, physical affection is simply a given, especially towards the reader, even when the poor guy is trying to something outside of his home; his clingy spider-man of a lover is always seemingly just a few feet away, and that’s when he’s lucky- For it didn’t seem to be a problem for Lenny to simply pick him up and take him away from what he was doing to get the attention he believed he deserved... Needy little (big) bastard.

It was simply what he did, and did it bother the smaller man? No, no not really, experiencing the hostility of ghouls, ghosts, and every other malevolent mob that seem to only want to snap him into two, this was certainly a welcomed change– One that in an established relationship only sweetened things even further, Lenny is his and he is Lenny's.

You expected it, could practically see it happening moments before it did. When you finally trudged back home from a long mining trip, and the cool night air on your sweaty skin, the sight of a monstrous spider/human amalgam would’ve been terrifying years or even months prior, the sensation even more so, but you only accepted it with open arms.

“Ah- Hey, sorry, it took me longer to find my way back–”

Those words of apology were of interrupted with an inhuman huff, being hoisted into the fuzzy and broad arms of a particularly antsy Lenny, whose noises of displeasure practically rumbled in his chest like the rattling of a mine cart on a railway, was all so common in the reader’s day to day. And while it could be a bit annoying at times, you always understood where it came from, with Lenny being such an anxious creature in nature and all. All those thoughts thrumming through your head stopped at the sensation of Lenny entering your shared domicile with a loud creak of the door and the warmer air the place just naturally had. Lenny beelined to towards the direction of the bedroom, those long legs of his shuffling with a fluidity they wouldn’t have had when he first trudged his way into your home, it was always so interesting and amusing to see how quick Lenny seemed to adapt to every little thing that came his way.  

Again, your mind was set right back into the moment when Lenny unceremoniously plopped you onto the bed, which creaked at the sudden shift of weight and a little ‘oof’ that was followed by a small snort came from you. 

“I can assume from all this you missed me?” You’d muse, that grin that always seemed to at least soften the tension in Lenny’s shoulders made its way onto your lips, and just like always, it did- But his various eyes still a little furrow to them, even as he made his way onto the bed alongside you.

The bed practically groaned, which only amplified your own amusement as you pulled him closer, arms wrapping around that thick neck of his, lifting your body up just enough to slot his far larger ones around your body,engulfing you with his big body and dark fur, which tickled your nose. 

“I know, I know, there, there.” The words of comfort laced with a sense of jest as the giggling that only happened here and there all throughout this intensified as the large arachnid huffed even louder like a pouting puppy, patting his back to further your joke, it was always so funny to hear such noises from such a formidable mob, like a privilege only you have the pleasure of experiencing in full, lucky lucky boy.

“You’re such a big baby, you know that right? The biggest baby in this realm–” Your continuous teasing was rather rudely interrupted by the sensation of being licked against the side of your face, that inhumanely large wet muscle scraping against the skin of your cheek in one disgustingly long stripe– Getting a squeal that only seamlessly shifted into laughter from you.

(First Kiss Edition)

(Ask here! Can't believe it took me this long to use this song in particular, it practically screams him.)

- I’m sure he wouldn’t know exactly what it is at first, like yes maybe had seen some villagers do it once or twice from the tree line, being creepy little crawly, but not understanding the significance of it till the reader comes into his life and makes it all the more interesting—finding himself eager to every little thing that he can about the reader and what matters to them, in this case being physical affection.

- This stage I reckon comes long after you are acquainted, becoming more and more comfortable with one another, learning and cherishing each other in a manner that blurred the line between platonic… And something else entirely. I’m sure the topic of kissing in general was mentioned once or twice, which only really got a head tilt and a confused tittering noise from Lenny before the mostly one-sided conversation moved onto something else… Till one day, it didn’t.

The air around the duo felt different, not tense or overwhelming, but different nonetheless. Everything seemed fine to Lenny. The object of his affection was safe and sound, laughing it up, close to him in a manner in which he appreciated deeply— The animals nearby made their presence known with their unique sounds, young and old, a significant one coming from a baby lamb he helped his companion home successfully after a little bit of trial and error once or twice. Yet, that feeling vibrated in his exoskeleton like a sound wave, always faint, but always there. He didn’t know what it was of course, but what he did know was that besides seeming fine— His little ‘friend’ seemed to have something on their mind, words a bit rushed or a bit too slow, heart slightly accelerating as time went on, eyes that lingered for far longer than he was accustomed to. It made him a little on edge understandably, was something not right?

Little did Lenny know, the reader did indeed have something on their mind, their heart and head filled with a fuzziness that could be compared with the opaque yet thick material of a spider web, a desire had been brewing for longer than they would like to admit. Lenny simply had that effect on them, not that they think Lenny knows, his presence downright smothering at times seemed to just… Accelerate that fondness for him even more rather than making them uncomfortable like they thought it would’ve back then. He exuded nothing but positive energy around them as they appeased him with food or other things that tamed his usual violent tendencies into something far softer. It made them overthink every little thing, even now, as they sat together, Lenny of course taking a good lot of the space on it, even with him practically joined to their hip, it was enough to make their resolve to keep things “platonic” waver with every second. They tried to talk the time between them away, but talking can only do so much, especially now, those several eyes looming over them like stars in the night sky, his inhuman mandibles occasionally twitching in a manner that once unnerved them, now set a certain tone in their mind that couldn’t be snuffed away. Before the human knew it, they were leaning closer and closer even with their already proximity,

He didn’t know what they were doing, that is evident as his body stills and his eyes focus even more on his object of admiration as they looked him at the level of his eyes, which even with them standing up to do so and him staying in his seat was a bit awkward— But that awkwardness was ignored, the world surrounding them forgotten, focus sharpened and straight on one another like predator gazing at its soon-to-be prey, the question of who was predator and who was the prey was unclear, but the one to make their resolve “lunge” was clear as a bell. The human, his human, pressed their lips against his own, arms wrapped around his thick neck, their soft and somewhat moist lips feeling foreign against his own monstrous ones, he didn’t realize what they were exactly doing at first, his mind becoming completely blank from the sudden action for a moment or two till he realized what was happening. They were kissing him, on the lips, with affection, with determination, with intent— It was enough to make him noticeably shiver till his completely rigid body softened against them and their hold on him. He felt himself giving way like an overtaxed dam, those far larger arms encasing his lovely little human in a gentle, yet encasing hold— Inhuman noises of delight and contentment came from his mouth and vibrated against his heart's lips, getting a little giggle from them that seemed to only encourage him even further.

Lenny tries to reciprocate eagerly, and it’s obvious he doesn’t even have a bit of a clue about what he is doing. It’s toothy, clumsy, drool pools from his lips against their own, it’s all so painfully him.

(Journalist Reader Edition)

(Ask here! I’m really sorry to keep you guys waiting, I’m in college and that is demanding all of my attention as of late WARNING: Not Proofread, we die like my bitch ass does with all of my loot in a deep ass minecraft cave)

- This whole concept is certainly as interesting one, having the object of his affection not only being willing to being compliant and welcoming towards his presence, but also take the time out of their day to teach him?

- He's very touched and flabbergasted at the same time-- He wants nothing but them be willing to him, and this is a level of dedication in which he can't help loving obsessively.

- He takes these lessons very seriously as a result, eager to please, especially if this is later on in the relationship, having come to care greatly for the reader, fond of their quirks and voice.

- The relationship is basically the two of them being enraptured by the other in varying ways, their differences uniting them rather than being a point of contention.

- As we've all seen, Lenny is incredibly intelligent in his role as a mob, mimicking words, actions, and even having the capacity in which he builds his own little cave, something I'm certain he'd drag the reader to show off his handy work, feels particularly all fuzzy inside if the reader takes the time to compliment his handy work.

- Anyways, if the reader is able to get their blocky little hands on some literature, somewhat damaged from water and other natural weathering from the long since dead era of complex civilizations before the reader--

- Lenny is more than happy to mull over it to his best ability, though I'm sure it's a bit hard to teach him to read at first, but he's a well established quick learner. Fluffing up in pride as the reader praises his growing skills, leading to him becoming more and more vocal, whether it be words or simple noises like trilling or hums.

- Speaking is both easier and harder than reading for varying reasons, the syllables sounding incredibly foreign and unnatural on his tongue that makes him grumble softly to himself, taking time to try to practice with or without the reader, mumbling particularly tougher words over and over to himself as he goes about his hunts at night.

- He tries so hard for the sake of the reader, their happiness and excitement enough to pull at the strings of his arachnid heart just enough to make him strive to duplicate that feeling as much as he can.

- If the reader is bilingual as well? He approaches learning that as enthusiastically as he does with english, over time I think he comes to learn it to a degree in which he may accidentally mix up certain words from the other language with english, getting a small huff of inner annoyance as himself, which softens if the reader kindly encourages and compliments him.

The player had long since carved their life into the world, exploring, learning, things were pleasant. Especially now, with a new friend, someone different, a diamond in the rough out of all the mobs that don't seem to have the capacity to speak or do the things the player does on a daily basis. it's nice, to have another creature like them to certain degree, and that is only amplified now-- A seemingly long lost love of being a journalist has turned it's head once more, their stability in this world giving them a since of calmness that gives way to indulging in their hobbies- Hobbies that Lenny, as the reader has fondly named him, seemingly finds an interest in.

It starts innocuously enough, a warm day slowly coming to an end, the player sitting at the step of their home, eating after spending energy during a productive work day. It's not too long till Lenny emerges, getting the attention of the reader, a routine of theirs, calling out, kindly sharing food, sharing words of their day, rinse and repeat.. Till of course something disrupts that routine, as the players hands the larger spider mob a piece of mutton, an almost alien inflection of what seemed to be a 'thank you' left his mouth-- And it's enough to make the player pause, stilling in surprise as they look Lenny in the eyes, neck craning to meet his eyes, eyes that widen in confusion and concern; did he do something wrong? Was it simply too weird for the player-- Before he could even display his regret the reader jumps up with an air of excitement that makes the smile on their face seem as wide as ever, jumping up and down as words flow from their mouth like a waterfall- And for once, Lenny finds himself an object of affection, and for once, he finds himself loving it immensely.

- Outside of the lessons I don't believe he speaks much to others, not seeing the use of it, the reader is all he needs after all.

(Platonic Pacifist Reader Edition)

(Ask here hi again! Back at it with another post on this guy... Totally normal guy man right here…

CW: Gore mentions, slight puke mention, unhealthy dynamics)

There’s a sense of softness in the world that surrounds the reader and their equally calm disposition, soft pinks and blues, farm animals strewn about, offspring and parents trotting along in all forms and stages of life, the sharpest and most blatant juxtaposition to the… Entity that stumbled upon it all during a hunt; the smells of life and its abundance stirring him into action- Practically feeling the future blood and viscera staining his teeth, his one-tracked mind on the verge of pouncing on a nearby cow, who rested on the grass; unaware of the creature looming in the treeline... That was until those reddened eyes came upon the silhouette and almost instantly found themselves torn away from the previous mission for food; something new, something abnormal- The reader, a strange yet noticeably harmless figure who was in the process of crafting yet another building for another ragtag team of critters they were able to befriend in a sense– Yet another creature totally unaware of his current presence. The abnormalities of the situation as a whole only mounted themselves bit by bit, he makes himself known in the matter of days till he’s practically towering over them like a sentient monolith.

His presence is almost suffocating right at the start, stocking close, eyes never wavering the least whenever they were within eyesight- An uncanny follower of an unwitting “leader”-- The fear was undeniable, especially during those early days, paranoia and fear of the could be’s running through the hapless player who wanted to make a peaceful generated world to craft and explore.. But, due to their friendly nature, the fear weathered into curiosity. Curiosity melded into a resolution to learn, and much to their surprise and delight- It- He was receptive, chittering and cooing inhumanely, blocky fingers outstretched with every friendly interaction, learning garbled yet strangely comprehensible attempts at speaking– It was like seeing themselves in the reflection of a funhouse mirror, goofy, warped, not quite right. He seemed as though every little thing they did was the most interesting thing in the world ever since the moon and sun began turning, from farming, to trading with nearby villagers, to even mining deep into the earth.

It was delightful and they were none the wiser to the more morbid side of the anomalous lone being that carved a place into their life, a new friend, another creature to care and bond with– Even more so than most considering his advanced intelligence, so many opportunities and so many dreams of maintaining a pleasant relationship wilted and died when they witnessed the first blood shed unceremoniously to one of their animals of course. It was a sheep, dyed a lovely shade of pink, a symbiotic partnership between shepherd and sheep inadvertently shattered when the creature became peckish for it– It was nature, predator and prey, food and eater.. But that didn’t mean it was horrifying, especially to a gentle soul like the reader, who rather than fought, ran, and fawned; they froze in place- Fear was twisting in their guts like a writhing snake, expelling from them when they found the merit to run when it seemed as though the beast was done feasting on the remnants of their four legged companion… It certainly explained some things, some animals had gone missing, remnants of them found later on the property much to their dismay, it seemed as if no matter how well-lit or secured everything was, at least one of their animals was found unresponsive and torn to shreds in the morning. 

The atmosphere between the two shifted drastically ever since that bubble of bliss was popped unwittingly by him, he didn’t understand, of course he didn’t– As much as he tried to seem normal and friendly, that underlying fact always found itself freshly seared into their mind, he was a creature, they were man. He didn’t have the same mindset as them, but it still felt adverse to their psyche, the whole situation had that overall feeling of hopelessness as they simply had to endure this creature feasting upon things they grew to tend and care for with a great sense of fondness. Something that was so rosy and positive felt rotten to the core, a fine line between the volatile and the gentle, a fear that the creature could turn against them, becoming another stain on their property… And we wouldn’t want that, would we? Maybe they try to make excuses for him, maybe they come to resent him, maybe something in between both, but the outcome is obvious, they are too afraid to say anything, to try to explain, in fear of angering him. Having seen some glimpses of it was more than enough for them.

It becomes a cycle, feed, fester, entertain, rinse and repeat, the reality of it all makes them incredibly uncomfortable.. Though I don’t necessarily see him being able to detect it, not when he’s so busy trying to learn from them and their mannerisms.
