Playing on Minecraft snapshots is weird because like you get early access to a whole bunch of cool new shit they're adding and things can change and all that but also sometimes they manage to incomprehensibly fuck something up like somehow disabling all natural spawning of hostile mobs regardless of the difficulty the game is on and make you feel like you're going insane
Limestone, jungle and birch bridge, with chipped lanterns.
aaand all the things you can use to decorate! I think this is all the minerals in the game, which is sweet. Netherite, diamond, gold, iron, copper, amethyst, emerald, lapis lazuli, quartz, and redstone are all options!
My current ranking of the armour sets (left to right):
#1: spire - I like the boots mostly, but it's decent all around
#2: tide - the pants are good, and I like the overall look, but I don't really like the helmet
#3: rib - it looks awesome when its a subtler effect so it doesn't look that great here with netherite on diamond, but i usually like it
#4: ward - decent all around, the helmets great but the chestplates weird.
#5: wild - I loveee the chestplate, but besides that it's plain
#6: eye - the helmets goofy, but the chestplate could be good depending on what youre going for.
#7: sentry - a bit plain, but the pants and boots go nice together
#8: coast - its not terrible but the design's not that good either
#9: dune - I hate the chestplate and helmet, but the boots and pants are pretty good
#10: snout - It looks like I'm cosplaying ironman. I can only imagine using this armour if I'm roleplaying the avengers
#11: plain - the classic
#12: vex - I love vexes but I hate this one. I look bisected. even though the helmet isn't split in half it still looks weird
Best in each piece:
HELMET: coast
Its simple but effective
CHESTPLATE: wild
I love the triangle like shape and the shoulders
PANTS: eye
this was a hard one since I also like dune, but I like how it looks like pockets
BOOTS: spire
spire is awesome, I love the chain mail looking pattern
minecraft swamp has feelings!
New changes in snapshot 21w08a!!!
- main things -
- grimstone has been renamed to the (much cooler sounding) deepslate
- ores will now generate with more cohesion into deepslate when below y=0
- tuff (formerly of amethyst geodes) generates instead of andesite below y=0
-in place of tuff in geodes, a new Smooth Basalt will generate. you can get it by smelting basalt too!
- redstone ore and emerald ore have been touched up to look glowy-er
- the deepslate ores are ‘twice as tough’ to mine as their normal counterparts
-general ore generation has been tweaked. Lapis ore will never generate next to air blocks, like Ancient Debris, and gold and diamonds will be less likely to do so.
- remember these are STILL NOT FINAL GENERATION TABLES, so they are still open to feedback and change.
-deepslate walking sounds are very crubchy to walk on and it has a new cobbled variant which is basically the same as deepslate
-as per ilmango and many in the technical minecraft community’s request, slime and honey blocks are now in the redstone tab in the creative inventory
thats as much as I thought was impotant, but you can check out the whole list on the minecraft website here
the new grimstone looks nice in isolation but I really don’t like how it looks as the main stone for the deeper y levels, it’s way too noisy/contrasty?? the pic isn’t one of the big caves but the giant caves would make this problem even worse
anyone else?
