Hey, Fizz. I've heard a lot about what's been going on with all of this theft going on with your art. I wanted to check in on you personally, see how you were fairing amidst all this bullshit that was happening. Wanted to see how the artist themselves were doing aside from just putting up red flags about the prior.
Thank you for checking in! There are definitely the ups and the downs of this whole situation. This will probably get a little long so I’ll bold the parts you should pay attention to.
It’s easy to address the things wrong here. Especially when art is how I make my money! It’s disrespectful and upsetting. I’ve spent so much of my time gathering this information so I can get any sort of authorities involved to come help me make a case against them on terms of copyright infringement and fraud, that it’s been difficult lately for me to get any kind of personal art out.
But I feel like this is absolutely necessary, especially since I’m not the only person they’ve been harassing like this.
Countless people have come to me and given me bits of traced art, reposted art, stolen art and I feel at this point this has become a fight for self-respect and holding my ground–not only me, but anyone else involved. This is about defending myself and my career. And I will not allow anybody to stomp all over my career.
Of course, with any situation, there are things to smile at as well.
I can’t tell you how many asks I currently have in my inbox of people saying “I found you because of the art thief post circulating and I love your art so much I’m going to stay” (there are currently 165 asks in my inbox itself and I had just dumped it about a week or so ago). And it’s absolutely astonishing just how many people are ready to stand by me and walk with me through this whole shebang. I actually get a little teary-eyed thinking about it!
My support has never been stronger and I’ve never felt more motivated to try and get things handled.
So I’d like to thank you.
Thank you for spreading the word. Thank you for helping me find images and accounts and people who have been affected. Thank you for everything.
Things will get shut down and handled. I believe they will and I’ve been doing everything I can to make sure it will.
