The Minehead Hobby Horse (or "Obby Oss") is a traditional folk custom that takes place in Minehead, a coastal town in Somerset, England, during the May Day celebrations. It's one of the most well-known examples of a hobby horse ritual in the UK, with deep roots in local folklore and possibly pre-Christian or medieval traditions. The hobby horse is accompanied by musicians (often with accordion or drum), dancers, and followers dressed in traditional clothing. The group parades through the streets, visiting homes and pubs, and “blessing” households in exchange for donations. The horse can be both playful and menacing—chasing people, especially children, and "capturing" them under its skirt.-Minehead, Uk
