A Boom Going Off

I just realized that I'm in love with my best friend... It just came out of no where too. One minute we're laying there watching anime and the next, he tells me he's proud of me and that's when it hits. It wasn't even a big deal to me. I decided to learn piano and he's proud of me for sticking to it. That's all he said for me to realize how much he really means to me.

It's weird, just thinking about it, but it isn't in a romantic way, just... I'm in love. How am I supposed to explain it in any other way than that? He's the greatest best friend a girl can ask for. He's always listening and paying attention to things no one else will. He takes the time to talk to me or goes out of his way to ask how I'm doing. I feel safe and treasured with him. I can tell him anything and he'll always get it. He treats me like I'm the most important person to him and he even reminds me of it all the time. He'll tell me I'm fine just the way I am and just let's me be me.

I definitely got lucky when it came to best friends. In such a short time I've found a wonderful person who I know will always stick by my side and we'll follow each other no matter where we go. I love him so much for that and I love it even more for the simple fact that I know I don't have to worry about any romantic feelings getting in the way of truly and deeply caring for a human being for simply being who they are and accepting me with my flaws and all.

I'm so in love with my best friend, and when the day comes that I fall in love romantically, that guy better understand that my best friend and I are a package deal, because in this moment, I swear, my best friend will always come first.
