i've had this screenshot saved for a while but i've finally decided to post it because it's so incredibly funny to me. "why is it so funny" you might ask. well it's because i cropped it from this screenshot:

this moment was from bek's stream. and she was in f5 mode behind them. but you can't even see her because apo and cherri can't stand at a distance longer than a pixel apart or they'll explode angstily

a really funny thing for me about bannerfall hellfire duo is that when you watch their pov's it seems like there's a distance between them, because apo is just a knight and cherri doesn't know much about her still and they're not that close

and then you watch literally anyone else's pov and half the time they're just standing an inch away from each other. just standing Like That

The Apo, Katie and Cherri training last stream made me go crazy. Before i didnt see their dynamic as anything more than "they're very fun when they're together" but now. oh my god

The fact that all of them see their idealized versions of each other? Both Apo and Katie believe Cherri has magic and that she will be a great ruler one day and they don't see her doubts and worries about the fact she can't protect anyone. Katie and Cherri believe Apo to be a competent and strong knight and don't know about the impossibly high standards she set for herself and how she goes out of her way to train more and more to be strong enough to protect Cherri. Both Apo and Cherri genuinely believe that Katie is brave and that she has great potential as a knight and don't think about how she does run from danger a lot and how her loyalty is constantly questioned by everyone other than them.

And the fact that each of them kinda thirdwheels the others? Well Katie obviously thirdwheels Apo and Cherri because they have really sapphic shit going on. And also their trauma from escaping Soluna. Cherri thirdwheels Apo and Katie because they're knights and they need to train and to fight and she can't join them. Apo thirdwheels Cherri and Katie because they still decide to train in secret from her. And because Katie told Cherri about her whole lore, which I don't think Apo yet knows. And in turn Cherri told her about the situation in Soluna, something Apo tries to keep secret.

And the fact that this "thirdwheeling" will hurt all of them? It has already hurt Cherri because she wants to learn how to fight and Apo doesn't let her. It will hurt Apo when she finds out Cherri and Katie are training in secret. And Katie will be hurt when Apo and Cherri eventually leave for Soluna.

I just hope they'll be able to resolve all of this together

Another tragedy of v!Apo's character is that she's not as selfish as people think she is.

She's very self-sacrificial. She sacrificed her life and became a vampire in an attempt to save the other humans, she gave her blood to Martyn to save him, she offered herself to be a double agent despite hating v!Scott's ass.

But she was driven to a point where the only thing she could sacrifice was her life with Cherri. And she just couldn't do that.

Unfortunately, she was in the same town with Doc and Cleo, the most self-sacrificial duo ever. And so of course they saw Apo's refusal to give up her most prized thing in life as selfish.

But in the end, she did sacrifice her happy ending a little bit. I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but during the part where the plan to turn and cure all humans was ongoing, Apo was constantly switching to her stake in her hotbar while looking at Scott. She absolutely could kill Scott, get cured and get her happy ending. But that would ruin the happy ending for others. And so she comes back home to Cherri as a vampire.
