To me, cuddling with the Captain really depends on which stage he's in. Early levels Captain a bit too shy, a bit too timid to just outright cuddle you.

I think he would probably need at least a tiny bit of assurance that you are actually confortable exchanging affections, you can even notice a (not very discreet much to his displeasure) blush on his face when you offer to cuddle for the night.

Do not mistake his shy demeanor for dislike though, he is definitely enjoying every and each second of having his hands on you and vice-versa.

Later stages Captain, however, would be a lot bolder.

For a man with as much willpower as him, losing hope surely would feel like going down an infinite spiral of self doubt and despair. He likes the feeling of having you with him, of holding you in his arms.

Suddenly, the weight on his shoulders is not unbearable, the turmoil in his heart seems to calm even if for only a moment. The closeness grounds him, so much it moves him to work harder so both of you can go home.

I'd like to imagine he'd be the one to offer to cuddle rather than it coming mostly from you.

So it’s cannon Captain Sweeper likes to make handcrafted things right?

Imagine he makes little knitted things for you, be it a plushie of you or a scarf to get you warm when nights on the ship are particularly cold.

What if he makes origami of your favorite animals and leaves them on the desk in your quarter. By now, you have a small collection of carefully folded paper, a petite ship crew of your own!

Or maybe he could go big, he would make you blankets, coats, or even a painting (although I don’t think he’d be able to paint properly).

Anything he gives you is going straight to your dorm, being kept with the same care as a lover would with their partner.
