Minesweeper Blues
(The lights are out. My roommate and I have clambered into our respective beds.)
Stuart: How many games did you win today, Jon?
Me: Of Minesweeper? 10, maybe? I won a lot. It felt good.
Stuart: I won 8... (a pause)... I increased my win total by 66%.
Me: That's good.
Stuart: Especially when I finally came off of my 60-game losing streak to begin my winning spurt.
Me: You gotta love those. It's important to take a break for a while and then come back to it - fresh. You'll be less jittery or pressured to win.
Stuart: True that.
(A long pause...)
Me: We don't have much of a life, do we?
Stuart: Nope. And I am okay with that.
I'm okay with it, too, for the record.
