Native region/country: East from TX, south to FL, north to ME.
Mature size: 3-12 feet tall. 3-12 feet spread.
Habitat and/or preferred growing conditions: Grows in average, acidic, medium to wet soils in full sun to part shade. Adaptable to both light and heavy soils, but prefers moist, acidic, organic loams. Good tolerance for poorly drained soils including wet boggy or swampy conditions

Leaf/flower color: Leaves are elliptic to obovate, toothed, and dark green (2-3” long). Insignificant flowers. Bright red berreis (1/4″ diameter).
