hearing the people around chatting from a distance made it easier for edward to pass them off as background noise, just like the birds chirped to each other, when water would ebb and flow against the shore, or how the leaves rustled from the gentle breeze.
he couldn’t hear any of the nature now, unfortunately, too cold to stay outside for extended periods. he instead took solace in the library, surrounded by books and the warmth coming from the candles and the small spaces. his posture was straight, book lying against the table as his hands rested atop one another on the table. so far, things have been as peacefully as they could be, being able to engross in the text.
