WESLEY CHOI, HE who considered himself to be a reformed man. But as a self-indulgent, impulsive creature, he was bound to fall at some point or another. While he had given up the life of bullying to pursue a more peaceful existence (meaning girls), that didn’t make him any less taunting. If there was one thing he hated in the universe, it was blood purists. Not only as someone who was half-blood himself, but more importantly, as someone who had a half-blood cousin, he felt the need to personally punch in anyone’s face with such views. He could handle a fight, but if anyone were to ever pick on Vernon, he knew things would get out of control faster than one could say lumos.
And if a blood purist happened to be a Slytherin, a house in which Wesley despised all inhabitants, then it was all the more worse, adrenaline pumping through his veins at the mere sight of them. Do Kyungsoo. Someone who held both these devilish qualities, instantly making him an enemy in the Gryffindor’s eyes. Since he had known of his existence, he had prodded, aggressive words spilling into his ears, hoping to cause as much damage as Kyungsoo’s own backwards ideals could.
Upon first sight of the other, post break, he couldn’t help smiling to himself. Finally, his favorite target (other than that of someone from his own house) returned, to engage in more provoking. This was the lion’s territory, Kyungsoo had no right to be here, whether simply on his way to class or not. It was something Wesley wouldn’t stand for. Purposefully standing in direct line of the Slytherin’s sight, he smirked, obviously challenging. Too bad the other never returned his jabs and chose to ignore him, like a weakling instead.
“Hey, you fuckin’ snake! Too bad you didn’t get any taller over holiday break, huh? I guess being an ignorant fuckass keeps you closer to hell.”
of all the people that gryffindors are able to confront, why did kyungsoo always feel like they came to him to let out their aggression? sure he was a slytherin, sure his opinions weren’t the most agreeable, and neither was he always friendly to be around, but he wouldn’t consider himself to be loud in any way. in fact, he kept to himself, preferred the comfortable company of his selective few as opposed to those who befriended everyone, and spent his time in selective spaces and completely fine letting everyone go about their duties. he could think of countless others who were worse than him.
but no, for one reason or another, one glance towards kyungsoo flipped a switch to pester him, to call him names, to blame him for all he represented. at this point, he should have some personal vendetta against these people, have his anger take over in such encounters to prevent them from bothering him again. but kyungsoo wasn’t aggressive. he wanted to believe he was a person who dealt with problems rationally and without his emotions getting in the way.
he thought that was best for him, until it cost him one of his most important people when they needed him most.
his fingers trickled with irritation, tensing and untensing into fists as the gryffindor’s words reached his ears and affected him worse than usual. this wasn’t the first time he’d seen wesley. kyungsoo ignored him the last time they’ve crossed paths, but that proved to be the incorrect way to deal with the problem.
his head tilted up to look up at the other, a glare on his face but no move to follow his impulses. “move,” he instructed sternly. “i am in no mood to entertain you.”
