OKAY I HATE TARYN AS MUCH AS THE NEXT PERSON BUT HEAR ME OUT. SHE WAS A NUANCED AND COMPLEX CHARACTER AND GETS OVER HATED.
Taryn was a teenager and was raised in the same bloody household just like jude.
"The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg" The twin sisters were raised in the same house but turned out very different. I read the book very long ago so I don't remember a lot but bear with me. Taryn was a people pleaser and had way more social expectations placed upon her. She did kill Locke in the end so love her for that. What she did to her own sister was a bitchy thing to (tbh i forgot what she did, she betrayed her right but i forgot for what) anyway i read the novella that was from her pov and if you read that you get a very different perspective on the situation (even locke's death scene) she did truly love jude but she was a flawed character (just like everyone in the book) and made mistakes that costed her sister in the end but she did try to make up for it
