I don't care how late it is... I must paint... . #miniARTventure2020 entry for Forest with flowers. -it wasn't specified what kind of forest we should paint so I opted to highlight the importance of the mangrove forests around the world. It's unique that it need both land and sea to grow, creating unique aquatic systems that range from freshwater to salt water. Like all trees, mangroves also produces flowers. Depending on the species, it can have reds to pale violets in varying inflorescences. Some look like pyramids while others look like stars bursting white white stamens. They prevent tsunamis, breaking the waves apart before it hits the mainland. And they serve as fishing nurseries too. Sadly, they're constantly helpless in the face of man's destructive tendencies :( but we do have programs in place... I only hope we can do more... . In other news, there is nothing like Sennelier when it comes to glazing! Whether light over dark or dark over light, I never get muddy mixes. It was the perfect watercolor to depict the waves going over both sandy substrate and woody branches but still allowing them to be visible underneath it's surface. And the Raphael brush just glides in the page... Get both from @artnebulaph Holding everything together is my new Fiesta zippered travelers notebook from @jacintoandlirio it's just so perfect.
