Winding down now…. Keeping it going… Mac and cheese is definitely a family favorite BUT only a few coveted members are permitted to prepare it. If you’re not on the list, just step back, for your safety. Same rule applies for the holiday “chitlins.” If you don’t have a clue, then have a seat, preferably out of the kitchen. What’s Cooking Now? Next in the oven is a beautifully lean smoked ham. The smell is heavenly and I admit that one tiny corner has already been eaten. Up next is the beef roast. By seasoning and cooking it in the slow cooker, it guarantees an extremely tender roast beef. After it is cooked, tiny red potatoes are cooked in the pan juices leftover from the roast.
