I had so much fun with these florals. I really had no idea what I was going to get when I got there, but these from @spruceridge were everything I could’ve hoped for and more. I’ve never had a color palate like this to play with and I’ve never even seen half of the plants she used but I loved it. I meant to post this yesterday for #fridayintroductions, but I got rather caught up in a baking fiasco that involved me remaking two thirds of my cake layers, so needless to say I didn’t end up getting to it. 🤦🏻‍♀️Anyway, it’s been a minute, so I thought I’d say hi and tell you all a little about myself. Also, this is a little lengthy, but it’s a two-part introduction, so keep reading for some exciting news! . Hi! 👋 My name is Ashley Schwartz! I’m the “Mini Chef” whose life is being documented in this little account. Here’s some random facts about me: .I am a graduate of the Alfred State Baking Program. .I got married June 30th of this year, and I made our wedding cake (the one in this post ☝🏻). It’s entirely cookie cake because but I’m really not a big fan of cake eating unless it’s cold. .I really love fresh oranges and decorating with candied orange, but I can’t stand orange flavor. Except orange soda. That one I like. .My favorite color is yellow. .I own over 400 books and counting. .I play two instruments. .My favorite flowers are forget-me-nots and daffodils. .I’d love to get to know you too, so post some facts about yourself in the comments! • And now for the second introduction. Some of you know that I have had a little business called AM Baking. Some of you also know that I actually really hated that name. It was something I picked quickly because I was making some wedding cakes and needed a business name. But I had little time to think it over and I found it really didn’t reflect at all what I wanted my business to be. After months of sitting on a new name idea, I have finally filed my new DBA. .So, please allow me to introduce you to Torta. Torta is the Italian word for Cake! More on why I chose this name in a later post, but for now, I’m just very excited to share with you and for the changes ahead for my little business. .If you have read this far, thank you! I really can’t say enough good things about the staff at @ravenwoodweddingsandevents. 10/10 recommend. Our coordinator was Marissa and she is an absolute doll. Super pleasant and friendly, she made us feel like we had known her forever. She was very responsive in communicating and helpful in the planning process. The day of, Marissa and her staff kept everything flowing so smoothly. I worried about nothing. Not only that, but they added touches to the day that I never thought of, or expected. They set up our decorations for us, and while I had ideas for the big things, the girls added such beautiful details that brought it all together stunningly. They took great care of us all day and made our day so special. Thank you @ravenwoodweddingsandevents for such excellent service. So I’m getting married in 2 1/2 weeks 🙈It’s pretty crazy how times flies. Wasn’t it just February? . I’ve been pretty MIA on social media lately so here’s a quick little update: . I’m 90% moved into my fiancé’s apartment, so that’s super exciting. We just had our final meeting with @ravenwoodweddings for the big day and we’re in the home stretch! Baking has been pretty much put on hold for a while (besides the wedding cake, of course) to focus on planning and moving, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about the changes I want to make to the business. I think I’ve finally settled on a new name for the DBA so stay tuned after the wedding for announcements. . Aannd that’s about it for now.
