What’s in My Bag: Travel Essentials for a Comfy Weekend Getaway

Summer holidays are almost ending, and I know many of you are planning that last-minute getaway before school reopens, right? Whether it’s a quick trip to the hills, a beachy escape, or just a chill weekend, your travel bag needs to be sorted!

So, I thought I’d show you exactly the travel essentials that you can carry for a comfy, stress-free weekend trip. Nothing fancy, just the real stuff that helps you feel good and look cute.

1. The Bag Itself

First things first, the bag! For a weekend trip, you can go with a duffle bag or a good-sized backpack. It’s easy to carry, fits most airline cabin rules (if you’re flying), and you can just chuck everything in. Choose one that is simple and sturdy, with a few pockets on the outside for quick access.

2. Comfortable Outfits That You Can Mix & Match

For a comfy weekend, pack pieces that are super light, super relaxed and can be mixed and matched.

2-3 Comfy T-shirts - Think soft cotton or a nice blend. One light, one dark, maybe one fun graphic tee. Easy-peasy.

1 Pair of Joggers/Comfy Trousers - Perfect for the journey, for lounging or even exploring.

1 Pair of Shorts or Skirt -  If it's a hot destination, obviously! Something breathable.

1 Light Jacket/Cardigan - Even in summer, evenings can get breezy, or the AC in trains/buses can be chilly. So, a light denim jacket or a simple cardigan will be perfect to handle.1 Simple Dress (Optional) - If you want to feel a little more put-together for dinner, a simple midi dress that can be dressed up or down is great.

Undergarments

Of course! Pack enough for each day, plus one extra. 

Include wire-free and underwire bras, for those comfy vibes and when you need a little extra shape and support. Cami bras are just so much more comfortable than regular bras, especially for travel. 

If you’re packing an off-shoulder top or a dress, then a strapless bra definitely makes the cut – gotta keep those lines clean, right? Don't forget to carry 2-3 cotton panties that are breathable and quick-dry.

3. Footwear That’s Easy on the Feet

You can pack any two pairs based on your travel plan:

Comfy Sneakers: For walking, exploring, everything!

Flip-flops/Sliders: For chilling at the hotel, going to the beach or just slipping on quickly.
