            He gets down on his knees, turning carefully to face her.]

       --your mama's got to take you back Earthside pretty soon, baby.  I'd like to take you with me, but I can't; you'd miss Mommy, and it's--against the rules.

"Daddy!" She ran across the medbay despite people attempting to stop her. Without a word she wrapped both arms around his leg and clung as if something terrified her.

   [He looks down and only by sheer force of will does not smile.]

This crowd-- *He gestures to the masses around them. To be in such close quarters with others is uncomfortable, even after so many years, yet he presses a smile onto his lips.* Tell me, what is it gathered for?

Is there some celebration? Or is it simply luck that draws them here today?

"But I want to say it." She whispered, smiling.

"No. Once you're older. Now, lets go find Bones."

"Fine..." She glanced down then gave a mischievous smile. "Jesus fudge!"

"Joanna!" Jim got down to her level, looking her in the eye. "I mean it. Don't say that. When you're older,I'm sure you'll be able to say whatever you want, but not right now."

"So I can't say it?" Joanna didn't quite like the idea but then again who was she to listen to him.

"Nope. Your dad will be very angry if he hears you say that. Then he'll kill me if he finds out I'm the one who taught it to you. So no saying it." He explained sternly.

"What does 'jesus fu' mean?" The girl questioned. Sadly for Jim kids were curious which meant some questions were going to be needing answers.

"Uhh... Jesus fudge. It's what grown ups say when they're angry or upset. Not something for little kids to say."
