Starscream/Minimus - “So you’re my future bride/groom? You’re not what I expected at all.”

"Yes, well," Starscream said, examining his bright blue talons as he leaned back against the edge of the desk, "naturally you're fortunate to be blessed with such a handsome mechanism as myself."

Minimus frowned. He kept his distance, as the sounds of the party filtered down the hall from the billiards room. Starscream was alone here, since Minimus startled away the little mech he'd been speaking to.

"I meant," Minimus said, "you don't have the accent I expect from a Vosnian tower-holder."

"I was educated abroad," Starscream said, breezily.

"Where, exactly?" Minimus said.

"Oh, all sorts of places," Starscream said. He walked his sharp talon tips along the surface of the globe at his hip, picking out the gold-embossed lines of latitude, and then sending it spinning along its axis.

"And I've tried to contact your family in order to verify your paperwork," Minimus went on, "but no one at the central data office has been able to connect me with any single member of your household."

Starscream's hand gripped down on the spinning glob, stopping it sharply in its tracks. "Ah," he said. "Maybe you were inquiring after the wrong family?"

"No," Minimus said. "I was very specific. No one had any idea who Starscream È Magnavox of Goldmoon House was."

"Oh!" Starscream said, and spread his hands, "Well of course not! There's no such person, is there?"

"Yes," Minimus said, through gritted teeth, "That was the implication of my comment."

"No no, you don't understand," Starscream said, looking very apologetic. "I'm Starscream È Magnavolt of House Coldmoon. It's an understandable mistake, the glyphs are so similar, and Vosnian writing has that-" he wiggled his hand, "-wonky thing. Of course if you just look up the correct house name, I'm sure you'll find exactly the sort of verification you're looking for!"

Frowning if anything more deeply, Minimus said, "Yes. I'm sure. I'll go and call up the data center now."

Starscream leapt up from the desk at all once, taking Minimus firmly by the shoulder and turning him back around. "Yes, yes, of course," he said, in a friendly mollifying tone, "but it's a party, dear Minimus! Your brother would be absolutely sparkbroken if you quit the festivities so early."

"I assure you he would not be," said Minimus, who had never stayed at any party this long in his life.

"Oh, don't be so stiff," Starscream said. "Here, I'm sure there's some kind of mischief you and I can get into together, in a place like this. You're my guide, Minimus! My psychopomp! My Virgil!"

"Your whom?"

"Don't worry about it," Starscream said, leading him out and down the hall towards the locus of noise and excess. "Stick with me, Romeo, and I'll give you a night that'll reboot your circuits."

Uh- Minimus and Starscream? *nervous finger taps*

I’m curious to hear your thoughts in the ship, because it isn’t one that I’ve heard very much about before!

I will provide you with an AU though!

Ultra Magnus decides not to join Rodimus’ quest for the Knights of Cybertron, either not going initially or receiving a new assignment after Megatron’s trial. It would most likely the former option though. Because of his well-known legal knowledge, Ultra Magnus is placed within the circle of the Cybertronian high command. I can’t say what events will change because of his presence, because I am not so familiar with TAAO and the like, but Starscream and his relationship would start strictly professional. In this environment it would be difficult for Magnus to loosen his internal set of rules and self-regulations, and would be virtually impossible for the secret of Minimus Ambus to be found out. In addition to Starscream’s distrust of people, this mix would definitely be a slow burn. A loooong slow burn. Little baby steps as they loosen up, probably even steps back (as Magnus tends to prioritize laws and morals over personal goals, while Starscream can be the very opposite). It would definitely be an interesting dynamic when it finally works out to be a relationship.

I don’t know how the Minimus Ambus reveal would work in this AU just yet, but a Minimus and Starscream ship does have potential, despite how rocky it would likely begin!

There’s a common theme in a lot of your skystar posts where you draw Starscream either comically minuscule or a skrinkly looking beast, which I enjoy greatly and amuses me to no end.
