Wakes up drenched in sweat because there's a chance that in an alternate universe somewhere Minitoon made an octupus skin in Piggy: Book 1 and named it Octopussy

so the decay II trailer came out yesterday and it looks really good, but i’m still thinking about the teaser trailer and what the implications of that are

if you didn’t know, a week before the trailer itself came out, we got a teaser trailer in both the official piggy and wizard watch studios discord servers that featured an.. interesting silhouette.

here is the teaser trailer for those of you who haven’t seen it/don’t have discord

now, i know what you’re thinking — that is not a bunny silhouette. that’s a wolf. that is very obviously and clearly a wolf. piggy’s models have been getting better especially as of late but the game has a very distinct style for each species and that is so clearly a wolf.

but what does this mean? well, we have three options:

it’s william, and we’re finally getting an answer as to what happened to him

it’s willow, which is unlikely given decay takes place during book 1 and it’s already been established that willow was with tsp during this time

it’s an entirely new character, which is possible but unlikely given that we already have so many characters and certainly don’t need any more

i believe that this is william for many reasons, namely that you can’t just put a wolf silhouette into a trailer that ends with a child’s voice and not expect people to think that it’s william. that has to be a deliberate choice to get people thinking because come on. what other wolf children do we know of?

furthermore, minitoon has previously said that they would like to do a william character focused chapter but supposedly “can’t.” given this new trailer, that might just be because plans were made for william to be in decay rather than to get his own full-on chapter.

it just makes the most sense for it to be william. we as the fandom have wanted to know what happened to him for so long, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. whether they keep bunny dead, which i’m unsure about given the way decay I ended, or not, this still provides the perfect opportunity to give us his story too.

why else would there have been a wolf in the teaser? there are no other wolf characters that we know of other than him and willow, and willow’s story is already laid out perfectly, so there’s practically no chance it could be her. it would be a major fumble if it was some new character, too. we don’t need more characters, we need answers to questions we have about characters who were left behind.

that’s all i have to say for now, i’m really excited for decay II and i’m hoping that i’m right, but only time will tell.
