PARA: Trust Through Thick and Thin || Hyungseok & Minjun
The pain was something Minjun had never experienced before - it felt as if a fire was crackling in his thigh, surrounding him in torture that he wasn’t able to escape. Blood seeped from the wound and gradually tainted his form fitting marine skinny pants to a sweet dark color. The smell of rust was easily in the air, contrasting with the filthiness of it - not that the aroma really mattered at the moment, though.
A short while ago, the boy has decided to rush to the top of a hill, in the middle of a bad storm. He knew it was a reckless idea, because it was a quite bad weather and the road there was slippery, the lightning could also strike any time without warning. Hope, his puppy, did protest against the reckless idea, nevertheless, Minjun was stubborn and told him to stay back and hidden under the row of trees. He then quickly climbed up, then rushed back down after his observation. It was then when things became complicated when young man didn't pay attention to where he stepped on and slipped on the muddy turf. Eventually, he tried to stop his fall, but failed at doing so. In the end, unfortunate was at his most. A big fragment of a broken beer bottle found its way to sink deeply in the boy's thigh. So now, tons of seconds and a matter of minutes later, the loud, uncontrollable screams of pain subsided, the boy laid curled up on the ground on his side, clutching his leg.
He lay there, the pain still as intense as it had been just a moment ago, his teeth clenched in agony as tears streamed down his face, others swelling in his eyes, also. A few sharp gasps would come every now and then, not having enough energy to wail out. He could only look at Hope who rushed towards him, yelping and calling his name. Yes, calling his name, since Minjun could actually understand and communicate with animals.
'Minjunnie, Minjunnie...' The pup wailed while coming to lick the tears which were streaming down its owner's cheeks. 'Minjunnie, I told you it was a bad idea to go there!. What are we going to do now?'
"I-I'm sorry, Hope..." The man huffed heavily. "Don't worry, I'll be f-fine. We'll find a refuge soon. We will." Minjun pats the dog's head with a shaky hand before taking a deep breath, then forcefully pulled himself off the dirty ground to start walking towards the city with Hope following him, its tail hanging low between his legs. With every step, his feet seemed to grow heavier and far more difficult to make. The large, tight clump in his throat grew far more intense than to his liking as time went on. To be honest, this walk seemed like one to the path of hell - it was horrible, even more horrible when he found out he had other injuries just like a twisted wrist and ankle, along with scratches here and there on his body.
Now Minjun felt that he was basically walking to his grave. He didn't want to make too much noise, afraid to scare his little companion more than how it was already, yet the young male couldn't kept himself steady anymore and fell back down, only helping himself by clutching on a bus stop post. Hope whimpered out, turning around on himself, unsure of what to do before telling his owner he'll go find someone to help. Minjun was so much in pain he didn't even bother to say a word as the puppy quickened its pace and reached the front of a random door, scratching on it.
Well, this certainly was unexpected, to say the least.
