The One Where Minho Makes a Noise Like a Pterodactyl
“Hey, Minho-goon, have you read it yet.” Kibum was busy staring at the ceiling from a prone position on the couch, and in a moment of testosterone driven madness, was rolling a basketball from his palms to the tips of his fingers, watching it fly in the air and land back between his hands.
“Put that away before you hurt someone, and no….I haven’t read it.”
Kibum snorted. “I saw you coveting the pictures like you needed them to breathe. Why not the interview?” He read Minho with a sly surreptitious eye, hiding it as quickly as it had come. He stuffed the ball under his arm and reached over to the Singles magazine on the coffee table, turned to Jinki’s section and flung it at the younger man. “Read. We have to support our leader you know.”
“I don’t see what reading a few words thrown around in glossy print has to do with supporting him.” He grunted as the magazine hit him square in the chest but took the time to smooth out the bent pages nonetheless. Kibum looked at him with a roll of the eyes.
Minho frowned and stood, making sure to hip Kibum in the shoulder as he stalked to the room, only laughing when he heard Kibum’s rapid fire complaining. Shutting the door solved that problem.
It wasn’t like he didn’t want to support Jinki; that’s a preposterous thought. He’d stand in that man’s corner even if he had to fight his way to it. It’s just that…Minho had to suffer through a phone call this morning from Lee Joon squealing nonsensically in his ear about the article.
Minho was talented in drowning the squabbling man out (a talent that came with time and patience because Lee Joon’s whole existence was a squabbling man; he was a squabble), so as he belabored point after point, the only thing he heard was a sound akin to Charlie Brown’s homeroom teacher before he ended the call mid-Joon-squabbled-sentence.
That only led him to one belief. Jinki had mentioned Joon…again. Jinki had let the world know how special Lee Joon was to him…again. Lee Joon Lee Joon Lee Joon. He wanted to pile-drive Jinki’s precious Lee Joon into Jinki’s precious bedroom floor.
He was good at sulking, and he was also good at supporting. Good at smiling when he didn’t want to and even better at absorbing every word that came out of Lee Jinki’s mouth, even in print form. He was also good at throwing miniature (read: epic) temper tantrums when he saw something he didn’t like.
And he didn’t like what he was reading. Not one bit.
In a private place, I return 100% back to Lee Jinki! It’s mostly Lee Joon and Go Ara, but everyone’s really kind.
Jonghyun titled his head out of the door, his eyes wide and his lip drawn up, swearing he heard a pterodactyl’s screech, but that was impossible, he was the only dinosaur in residence. “What in the hell was that?”
Kibum was sitting at the end of the hallway, his legs tucked under one another as he gazed in rapt attention at the bedroom Minho had quartered himself in, a nefarious smile lighting up the corners of his lips. “Minho’s reading Jinki’s interview. “
Jonghyun nodded, tonguing the corner of his mouth as he received the information and began to slither back into his room when a thought occurred and he popped his head back out. “Wait. The latest one? That just came out? The one with…”
Kibum snickered evilly, enjoying the entertainment. “Yeah…that one.”
There was a loud crash, sounding completely like CD cases hitting the floor or an emotional crisis seeping out at the seams of a crazed man, they couldn’t be sure. The older man groaned before dropping his head into his open palms. “This one sounds bad. "
“In an hour or so, I’m going to go in there and turn on all the lights and see if he hisses at me like last time when Lee Joon wore the socks.”
They heard another crash, and a howl, followed by a string of curses.
“You’re evil, man. Evil.”
