I kind of agree with op of the enemies to lovers post... (I’m not a purity cop and I’m definitely NOT trying to start an argument with you, just sharing my two cents, hope that’s okay.) There’s nothing wrong with writing about villains doing villainous things, but as someone who likes to read enemies to lovers AND abuse stories, I don’t like to expect one but get the other, you know? OP added to their post to clarify that and I think they made a good point, in my opinion a good enemies to lovers pairing should be on equal footing even if they do inexcusable things to each other, but I don’t think they should have to be sanitized either

When I added that to what feralpixie had already said re: the post, I was mostly thinking about my otp, specifically because the Master has objectively been abusive to the Doctor, yet their relationship(TM) is a textbook enemies to lovers kinda deal...well friends to enemies to lovers. The Master IS a villain, he’s committed genocide an uncomfortable amount of times.
For me, enemies to lovers takes too damn long (oml and don’t even get me started on ‘slowburn’ fic. I only read short, erotic fics and some of them can be fairly violent and problematique). I’m not particularly invested in the trope, just was thinking about like reylo and what have you. Sometimes the enemy do be a real shithead, y’know?
