semi… i’m sorry.
She stood in front of him like a ghost made of memory, soft light brushing the edges of her face, the same way it had that day in the dorms before everything went wrong. Her voice was calm, but it carried something deeper. Something that clung to the air like smoke after fire. “You didn’t protect me, Minsu.” She wasn’t angry. There was no blame in her eyes, just something heartbreakingly gentle. She tilted her head slightly, watching him with that same look she used to give when he forgot to not call her nonna anymore. “I was right there… and you didn’t come.” Her voice trembled for just a moment before she smiled. That soft, familiar smile that always felt like home, like warm soup on cold days and whispered jokes under blankets. “But you’re sorry. I know you are.” She stepped forward, not touching him, just close enough to make him feel like she still could. “It’s okay.” A pause.
“You don’t have to carry all of it forever. Just don’t forget me. Not really.” Her expression grew softer, her figure already beginning to fade into the dark edges of his mind. “And Minsu… when the lights go out again, protect someone. Please.”
