I have this headcanon that Sam always is extra nice to Dean on Mother’s Day, because Dean is the one who raised Sam and he doesn’t associate “dad” with a positive thing. Dean doesn’t know specifically why Sam is extra nice to him for that one extra day in the spring (almost like his birthday). He never asks Sam about it, and Sam never really tells him. Sam’d hate to turn it into a “chick flick moment”.

Some say the world will end in fire.

Just watched the House series finale.

House and Wilson were always supposed to be Holmes and Watson, I know, but it never rang so true for me as it did tonight. That text on the phone in Wilson's jacket made me shudder. A completely unintentional nod, I'm sure, but it was pure BBC!Sherlock.

For a second I thought the beam was going to be such the anticlimactic heartstopping final end when it fell, and that would have been a good end in itself. Then I looked at the pacing of the episode, and wondered how long they could stretch the reaction shots, and then, of course...of course the death was faked. "Everybody dies," but not yet.

And what an excuse for those long slow end shots of everyone living their life, contemplatively, mournfully. So that even though we know not to mourn House -- even though we get the "happy" ending, of sorts -- there's that reaction to an end, inside the narrative, while outside of it we watch the narrative itself end.

And that collapsing downward issue of the building? Yeah, the fuckingReichenhouse falls, anyone?
